We were there last month, there were several nights we called it a early night due to a few single guys that didnt know how to take no for a answer, to the point to where the wife felt very uncomfortable and I wouldnt even let her walk to the bathroom by herself...I will say the matority were respectful but the ones that arent are the ones who gives the singles a bad rep..the were several being escorted out by security throughout the night due to bring highly intoxicated.
That would be more what I would call the Spring Break effect. I don't think any hotel in Cancun is exempt from it.
We hung out with those guys most of the time we were there. They were great fun and totally respectful.
We, too, were there last month and encountered many "great" singles and a few "a..hole" singles (talking about males - only met FANTASTIC single females). In particular, there was one really tall guy that would get so drunk during the day (early!) that he would be stumbling and falling flat on his face around the pool. That said, it was fun to watch his DA try repeatedly to light his soaking wet cigarette...lol. One night though, he and a fellow s...facer were urinating in the halls off of the Patio on room doors! I had pointed them out to security and, once questioned by security and told who had pointed them out, one of them charged toward me as if wanting to fight. I simply defended myself (quite easily) by pushing him away. When he fell back in to a planter, the security took all 3 of us to the front desk for questioning and to sign some piece of paper explaining what happened. I was, actually, told that since I had "touched" one of them, even in self-defense, that I could be removed from the property! All the while, the two drunks were cussing, threatening, pulling away from security, etc! I couldn't believe it. For the rest of the trip, regardless of how out of line a drunk was being, I just turned and went the other way and ignored. All in all, we did have a great trip and met some wonderful people (couples & singles) and, in a few years, will return. We have NO problem being at a resort with singles, whatsoever, but think that Temptation should do a better job of policing those (single, couples, whatever) that have had WAY too much to drink...for the safety of themselves and others
Sorry to hear about your confrontation with the security guys there. I don't think they should have pointed you out to him. AND I am glad that the management didn't follow through on the threat to throw you guys out. But it's another good reminder for everyone to avoid physical confrontations. Even for a good cause they can really mess things up on a vacation.
To the OP I will only say... Why did´t you plan your trip two weeks earlier? That said, have fun, be respectful and have a happy b-day temptations style. Be good, you´re a long way from home and, believe me, ending up in a Mexican jail is not something you want to do. If you think the plane tickets where expensive, just wait and see how much the corrupt officers will ask from you if you end up with them.
Oh dear . The CCC "elders" are at it again, Attacking the newbies & singles on their first thread and trying to suggest they stay away from YOUR hotel. I bet the hotel marketing team really love you lot. Well done to the folks on here that have offered these guys useful and supportive info. The OP did state that a group of his friends have been before and had the best holiday ever, so why would you not want to try it out for yourself. Most AI hotels end the entertainment before midnight and are full of screaming kids around the pool all day, What sort of fun is that? Lighten up guys, concentrate on your own holiday and live and let live. As someone stated earlier. TTR is just about the cheapest option from the UK and most twentysomethings don't have an endless pot of money. That's my Tuppence worth . Peace and love.
Your untitled to give your opinion to the OP you claim I attacked the OP with my Opinion , yet you Attack my opinion , your not any better. as far as the hotel the Marketing.. they advertise the place as a sexy romantic atmosphere ,,,,, a party of 10 x 24/7 drunk kids is not sexy . About singles ,,,, I go back and find no reference, was just talking about the bachelor style birthday party. About the single supporting the singles ,, its this type of party that gives singles a bad name, not very good planning on their part. I won't comment about why some couples want them there because that is their life style choice and their entitled to it . Sure glad the thread came up to help me pass the time till I fly out soon to MY resort . :ernaehrung024:
