Sorry if the statement came off as "condescending". Actually, I thought the statement I was responding to came off a little that way. We consider ourselves pretty well travelled also, just not to Cancun. We sincerely just wanted to make sure about the wrist band issue. A little surprised about all the advice on whether we should go or not. To stop this from becoming one of "those threads" we withdraw the question with our thanks for the infomation.

I have always let something as important as a wrist band determine where I vacation. Geeze go to Jamaica and vacation inside on of their compounds.

I may have missed it but what exactly is the issue with the wristbands? They're not that big and I barely notice them. It seems odd to me that a wristband would keep you from going to a resort.

I agree with the 'barely' notice them. I seemed to have noticed more when they are gone, having that feeling for a day or two makes you wish you were still there.

    Re: Wristbands

Not sure what the big deal with the wristbands is, seems trivial to me.

Even if you get the 'lower grade' wristband, you won't notice the difference in alcohol. Especially after 4 or 5 of them :)

They don't water your drink down, in fact, if you ask for more liquor in your drink, they will give it to you with no problem.

I have never worn a gold or silver wristband and never been treated any differently than anyone that did.

If wearing a bracelet is going to prevent you from going, that's fine.. More for me! :) (and it sounds like it wouldn't be the place for you if that's the case.)
