love your post. Sorry to hear about all the cancer in your family thought. I got tested for the Brac gene. Didn't have it but still didn't take a chance.
...normally I don't do this because it is the easy way out, but I am going to do it this time... I could not say it better, great response! :xyxthumbs: We support ACS ever year and is probably the biggest charity we give to, always great to hear the stories of the survivors.
I believe you should do whatever feels good so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. You've certainly earned the right to do whatever feels good!
Being in the medical field, I would not get freaked out by it at all as I see it a few times a day. I think if it was me, I would see it as an opportunity to educate people and be a representative of what breast cancer is,what happens when you have it, and how your survived it. Society likes to be blind to it being out there unless it absolutely smacks then in the face. Go ahead Carole, be yourself, be proud and Smack them in the face. Go and enjoy and if you feel like it, then definitely do it. Lol I also like the thought of having two tattoo daisies. Lol Enjoy girl.
Carole, your with the MAYhem group and trust me noone will be freaked out and if anyone else in the resort has a problem I thinking seeing all of us around you will make them second guess their staring. Go enjoy yourself and hang with us ....you'll be drunk most the time if we can help it and you won't even think about what people are thinking. Rob
Go for it Carole. We've certainly had girls in a similar situation on our cruises before, amputees of both sexes too and no one has been negative. On the contrary, folks have a lot of admiration for those who can still have fun regardless.
I have a friend who was at a Vegas topless pool and was in a hot tub with a girl with no nipples. He said that he had glanced her way and noticed, but then didn't want to be rude and stare so he tried even harder to only look at her face (even though he was super intrigued). She opened the conversation by saying "Yes, I don't have any nipples. It's ok to look". He said she was really confident and he admired that. So if anything, it will be a great conversation starter! Last year I had breast surgery just before going so I was a little nervous of my fresh scars, but it didn't take long to get topless. (Well ok...it took an entire day. But I plan to let the girls out the moment I step onto TTR property next trip lol)
My cousin got tested also like you and is going through the same ordeal. She found she was a carrier of the gene but not cancerous so she had a dbl mast. and a full hysto. just so she didnt have the hardly the chance! Darlin' there is no need to be sorry! Those were the cards we were dealt and if my life and others around me have taught me anything it isnt what cards you have in your hand it's weather or not you choose to fold or just draw more cards and keep playing. You did it Carole and we all are so proud of you for it! let the ladies jump out and sing to us!!!
We personally would not care. You should do what feels comfortable for you I am glad to hear that you are doing well. Many of us know someone who has/had breast cancer and the battle one must face. Not having been to TTR, I hear that many people say that people at TTR are easy going and do not judge. That is great! However, I am sure that there might be the occasional jerks that might stare if you are topless, plus not to mention if drunk might say stupid things because it surprises them to see that and can't help but ask about it or comment on it. I would just keep that in mind. Just wanted to tell you my opinion
