A drag queen once told me that the trick to wearing them is to buy the shoe a half size bigger and then add an insert for comfort. Also, personal experience says to leave them on. Sore tootsies tend to swell, so by stepping in and out of you heels, you are actually making it worse.
A girl can't even get her beauty sleep without being publicly mocked while dreaming of tall dark handsome men. You guys forget I am on the West Coast AND I have an 8-year-old to tend to in the mornings! I personally don't feel sexy in flats, no doubt cuz I have big flipper feet, so the more of my foot I can force into vertical, the happier I am. I bring 5 and 6-inch heels to TTR. I am not naturally graceful (as the Addicts who witnessed my pole-dancing last April will confirm) but I can rock 5-inch high heels like a porn star, even when severely intoxicated. BUT, I see lots of women in flats at night at TTR, and like all things at TTR, it's all about choice and doing what YOU are comfortable doing. And, as someone has posted, it is MUCH better to sashay gracefully in flats than to clop clop along like a Clydesdale in high heels. Many women who do wear high heels end up taking them off to dance at Paty-O's anyway. My suggestion would be to go for a wedge style of dress shoe if you want a bit of height but still stay safe, as wedges provide MUCH more stability than spike heels. Also, more straps = more stability. It's also not hard to find stacked flip flops these days. You won't even feel the height in those.
I agree with everyone here! Im also a 5foot nothing lol, so I get wanting the wear heels. I myself would LOVE to be able to comfortably and reliably walk around in 5 inch heels, but I know that with neverrr happen! I stick with my 3 inches, and i find small opentoed heels the most comfortable, as it allows my foot more room to breath! I also agree with what was said about toes swelling, and taking heels on an off may only hurt you more - the same goes for sitting, and then dancing, and then sitting...recipe for pain! Im bringing a few heels, and a few gladiator sandals (more fun than flip flops in my opinion). Im positive I'll start with one - probably just for dinner and drinks, and end up in the other for some dancing! Either way, confident and comfortable!
I like my heels except aftering taking my knee out and tearing my menicus a couple september ago at Patyo's I tend to dance with just flat shoes on now. Patyo's has flagstone floor. Deadly with platforms and dangerous. My knee is not gonna allow me to wear the heels anymore too long. I agree they make the outfit but with humidity feet swell and you won't see alot of women in heels. Lots of wedge shoes though if wearing heels.
Now Karen, I've seen the picts and I am sure everyone will attest to the fact that needing beauty sleep is a BS excuse for you being as lovely as you are!:wink3: Secondly I don't appreciate being molested in your dreams... would be much better in person! :cool014: LOL
Ha! Thank you Scott, but you should see what a scraggly old cougar I am when I don't get my beauty zzz's! If you would time your trips a little better, we could perhaps arrange some in-person molestation. For now, you will have to content yourself with haunting my dreams.
I do love how heels make me look, but since I don't wear the day to day, they generally start hurting and by the end of the night I've ditched 'em. That said, your lady should wear what makes HER comfortable. Confidence is sexy, and if you push her to wear something that she's not comfortable with, she'll lose her confidence. No one really cares anyway. I'd wager they'll be looking upward, anyway. =)
To tell you the truth, I don't think I have ever noticed anyone's shoes at Temptation. Unless you are talking about ''shoes,'' as in ''Nice Shoes!''
OK now coming from MN you should know what a pain it would be to walk on slippery stuff with heels? And yeah "NICE SHOES" is right... the better she feels the better she looks!
