Temptation Resort's site claims there is a wifi network available

"A: IS INTERNET AND WI-FI SERVICE AVAILABLE FOR GUESTS?
We offer Wi-Fi internet access in the public areas of the resort."

However, friends of mine that have been there say that there is no wifi available.

What's the deal? Why does the site say there is wifi if there isn't any?

I want to bring my own laptop and connect to a wifi network to make calls home

Can anyone confirm if there is wifi at TR?

We're also interested in the wifi. What doe you mean by 'free for members'? What kind of membership do we need (besides being resort patrons)?

    Thanks!

'Members' is the term used for people that have bought a timeshare package, which offers extra perks and benefits, or not as the case may be :)

    Thanks Steve,

I find it very odd because my friends just came back from the resort and I asked them to ask them if there is wifi. The staff claimed that the only internet access available is via the 4 computers down in the lobby area.

Hmmm, now I'm even more confused. Has anyone tried to use the wifi network by paying for it? How did that work? How did you pay and how much did it cost?

Sorry for all the questions. I emailed the resort over a month ago and they never got back to me.

Where does it work? I assume the rooms, down by the pool?

I only ever tried it from the room, so not sure if there would be access by the pool.

Your room number is your user / pass and it has to be set up by the front desk first and this is the point you'd pay if you are required to, otherwise you'll find the network but not be able to access it.

When we were there in May some people were using their laptops around the Paty'O Bar area. I think it cost something like $15 a day for non-members. I just pay $5 to use the ones in the lobby when I need one.

Do members get a better rate or free access to the lobby computers or just a special on the wi-fi?

Just the free wi-fi. There is a great business center a couple of blocks away that has great internet fees.
