you're allowed to bring 3L of alcohol to mexico from the US, I'm not sure about Canada. I usually bring a bottle or two from my home stash to have for nice dinners. I tried the house wine at TTR last summer and found it awful. Then again, I am a wine and beer rep by trade so I literally drink for a living!

I found the wine lists in the restaurants to be fairly priced and saw some good choices- especially if you stick to their European wines.

Here's my post from a similar recent thread:

Just wanted to report back on our thoughts on the wine (we just got back Friday). Last year we thought the wine was undrinkably bad, both red and white. Not bad in the personal-preference, "I don't particularly like that hint of toffee and slight nose of blackberry" way, but bad like "someone switched this out with the vinegar" bad.

I am thrilled to report we found the new white to be totally fine. The red we were not as excited about, but it was just a flavor we weren't crazy about, not that it was foul like before. (As an aside, that flavor we weren't crazy about we could only describe as "corn tortilla", I swear. Pretty hilarious.) Also, they have Lan Crianza for about $30 in the reservations restaurants if you want something better for not too much $$; it's a good Spanish red that we have at home quite a bit and the price is what I would expect in a US restaurant. We tried to try some other bottles, but they were out of everything we asked for, so we stuck with the Lan.

This is great to hear! We tried to drink the white wine occasionally at the nicer restaurants, but found it barely drinkable. Can't wait to try the new stuff in a few months and hopefully find it enjoyable to drink.

Just got back, had red with every dinner and it was passable, much better than your ever get in a box. Rather than bringing box wine , I'd take a trip to wallyworld , pretty sure they have wine.

The 20 or so glasses I sampled last Nov all seemed fine to me...

What I would recommend avoiding is the glasses they hand to you as you go into the buffet on certain nights, that stuff was pretty bad.
