Together with a group of friends we recently attended a trade fair in which Mexican wines were featured, among other things. Mexico is now really getting their act together on wines.

One of our favorites that day was this one, Casa Madero, "3-V," a blend, which sells for 219 pesos at Costco.

Casa Madero claims to be the oldest winery in Mexico, founded in 1579! The Spanish Government ordered it closed for a while when Spain was trying to reassert a monopoly and force Mexicans to drink only wines brought over from Spain. Two revolutions later the company is still going strong.
