We are wine drinkers, mostly red, but have learned red wine never tastes right in Mexico. It's probably the heat. I switch to beer since I like it, but the wife doesn't like beer and has to get more creative. Last trip to another resort, she fell in love with La Cucharachas. It's the drink she is holding in our profile pic and is a coffee liqueur and tequila drink. Sometimes I switch from beer to something with rum. I like a Dark and Stormy - ginger beer and dark rum. I also go through a Mojito phase every trip. Have even come up with a song called "Mr Mojito!" It's pretty funny once I've got a good buzz going.

The rest of our lives, we drink mostly wine, but have learned to mix it up while in Mexico. Asking the server for a recommendation is always a good idea for trying something new.

Last thing, white wine is usually OK at night - if you're into that sort of thing.

Totally agree with Jack & Colette...red wine just never tastes right in Mexico. We actually took a good red to Cabo one trip with us to have in the room, and we didn't even enjoy that. It just seemed too "big".

I am not usually one for sweet blended drinks, but the old TTR used to make a really good mango daiquiri (or marg if you prefer tequila). Not as sweet as most other places. Hopefully it hasn't changed. When I can't face any more of those, I drink scotch and water around the pool. Not exciting, but gets the job done. Avoid the Passport scotch, if they still serve that ((shudder)).
