I know that no one wants to leave the resort once there, but was told by another couple that the bar at the pirates cruise has free wifi. Only 5min walk away, and they said you don't have to buy anything to use it....but sitting in a bar without a drink in hand just seems wrong to me.
I work for an international company...so my laptop has an internal Verizon air card that I'm told will work in Mexico. Having said that, the computer is going to spend my vacation on my desk at home...Simply because I can't type while I'm drunk.
I've given up on using public WiFi....I can never seem to get it good enough when/where I *really* need it. And I do generally need to do a couple of conf calls and regular email/vpn when I vacation. The cabo TTR had it's wifi work maybe 50% of the time over the trips I was there. My one trip to Cancun I wasn't going to pay the ripoff rates they charge for for lobby-only wifi. So, I pay the extra for hotspot capability on my iPhone and enable intl data/text plans whenever I'm out of the country. I've never not been able to at least do email and vpn wherever I've been. And I don't have any hassles about multiple devices like some hotels complain about. My phone is my hub and my tablets/kindles/laptops just glom off of its signal.
