Hello. Heading down to TTR for our 6 th trip mid May ( will just miss you guys!). Where is the closest Telcel to TTR? Hrs of operation? I have a Samsung Galaxy 3 that we use as a travel phone. Bought a sim in Jamaica at Christmas and did same as you on Digicel. Want to repeat with a Telcel sim and plan. Works great. Any idea if they have an International calling plan? Thanks.
I just called our cell company and a texting plan for international use is $40 for 200 outgoing messages and .20 cents for each after that. Unlimited incoming. A data plan was $40 for only 10 megabytes which is not very much at all. Can you share the $15 a day wifi with another couple? Was thinking if it is possible maybe we can do tha with one of the couples we are going with.
When you buy the wifi at TTR, the password and username is your room number, if you find someone playing online you can use there password also, you just need their permission, and for them to log out so you can log in. With that being said sometimes it does knock the original computer off the network completely and they might have to go back to the front desk and ask them to reset it.
Speak English, Man! Am I the only one whose eyes glazed over about 15 seconds in? I thought I was pretty tech overall. Now I think I will just offer favours in return for Internet use! LMFAO!
When we feel the occasional need to Skype or upload photos we hop the bus to La Isla Mall and enjoy a cup of coffee and dessert at Ah Cacao while using their Wi-Fi. Makes for a pleasant afternoon getaway : )
Wifi is no longer controlled by the hotel. They have a machine that sells cards for $15 per 24 hours. The connection is better than it was before.
I was thinking 15 bucks a day is harsh. We pay 2 bucks a day back home I guess.... for a full 25 megabit line. But were not in mexico right..... Last year in Cabo we would walk down to the star bucks and use theirs, but for some reason it always cost me more than 15 bucks hehe.
I'm with you ! I do that stuff for a living and look forward to leaving everything at home. The only technology I bring is a fancy toothbrush and a camera ! The last time I checked there still isn't an internet app for my toothbrush, but wouldn't you know it -- it's possible for me to get on the internet with my Camera (running Linux and is wi-fi enabled) !
Cockroaches In room 5314 29 dec-12jan took me a long time to pay this holiday does no one see the cockroaches running riot
We used the wifi to facetime our son and it worked ok. There was some delay and a bit choppy, but we would do it again.
