When we were in cabo we went to the starbucks, the issue here is that you pay to go, pay to get coffee and in the end its the same as staying on the resort. If I could only resist good coffee......
They have Wifi... but only one device allowed on at a time and it's a pain in the butt to try and sign up on a phone or tablet...but you can do it. it's cheapest if you sign up online ... if memory serves I paid 79.99 for 7 days...packages are availble for less time...All but 1 day at 15.00 are better deals. The other two ways to buy it are at the front desk for 15.00 a day or via the machine outside the buffet. The front desk advised us to buy online for the best deal. Coverage was fine for us...we stayed over on the quiet pool side but the signal was stongest in the bathroom!!! Final comment...once I logged in it was stable enough to VPN to my home system. When I wanted to change to my tablet or Cell it only took a couple minutes for the system to recognize I was logged off of the other device All in all pretty normal service and quite fast. I did have to call technical support to sign up so I went to the front desk and they called the technical support folks ... basically advised me to wait a bit for the sign up screen to load...which I did and all was good. (I will also say that I ONLY bought the darn service becuase of 1 email that could not ducked...but it was good enough I would not hesitate to book a trip down to TTR if I only had a couple things that needed attention from down there via the net) oh yeah... you have to create a log in name and password... so you can 'share" it but recognize...one device at a time before you pass it around and get yourself locked out by another user you can't locate to get in when you need to!
Was there Halloween week and stayed over the seafood restaurant by the quiet pool and had no problem wih the wi fi. after a few minutes of not using it would log me out but was able to log back in with out any problems. Will def be using it again in Jan.
December I was just there last week..got great reception in the 5000 block. got it included in premier deal, but the new system only let me use 1 device.
Just looked into that and found that because my phone is locked to Verizon, the SIM card won't work. My phone is under contract for another 2 months so I can't get them to unlock it. Bummer, looked like a great deal for our trip in January :lighting1:
They can on lock it for you or you can get a teck savy person to do it,, or just look on Kijij or Ebay and get a used phone for 50 bucks or less,, All depends on how much and often you travel,
Have you (or anyone else) used one of these? This is a fantastic deal considering my cell company wants to charge $50 for 15 min talk and 100 texts. Not even including data. I'm just wondering how good/strong the data services are there.
Hey Fox, we're members, and last time (October) I noticed that my iPhone was able to get the wi-fi signal even out at the beach. Have no idea why.
