I guess the next question is what color is the bracelet they give you on check in.. Id hate to think that all of us premier members bought the contract and all we had to do was book a room directly with them. of course they want you to book direct and try to make a person feel some sort of value but I dont think you are talking about the timeshare contract. I sure hope not.

Ok, I think I am starting to get what the deal is between what you said and what Lady and Tramp said.

If you book repeatedly through the hotel you get member perks (fancy wristband, premier deck etc). However you are still paying the rack rate (aka regular price). However, you don't get the perks (RCI, Worldpass etc) nor the lower guaranteed room rate you do as a member.

Years ago they had something called a go silver plan I think it was? Maybe a way to populate the new premier areas more and get people to book directly through them than to pay commissions to travel websites.

My curiosity is piqued though. I'll aske when I am there later this month. I think I'll be happy still if I know I'm paying less than those who get the temp route!

We just went in Sept and paid $1440 for 7 days from Dallas. If you are vigilant and check multiple sites EVERYDAY, several times a day, it can save you bunches of $$$$.

We talked to several Premiere members while there, and in every case, we paid less than they did, and in a couple of cases, a lot less. I just don't see the advantage in us becoming members, especially when I've plunked down a large chunk of money to become a member, and it's still is going to cost me $100 bucks a day.

I wish it were different because we love it and will be going back in July for the 4th time, but it makes no sense for us to become members. I could care less about "top shelf" liquor (Ive had it and Im not convinced it's actually top shelf) or sitting on top of the restrooms where nobody wants to sit. All we care about is the cost per day.

If it saves you money, great. Thats what a timeshare is supposed to do anyway.

Keith, quit being a damn Canadian and just taking shit laying down..lol if they do this.. whats the point of our referal weeks. I like to think they are not stupid enough to give them the same perks as the members can..

We heard some people talking about this in Sept. and it is tremporary. In other words, it's not a permanent thing. You book 2 through them, you get "perks". You have to book 2 more through them to get "perks" again.

I know what you're saying but people should realize if they get referral weeks through people like us they will still save (since referral weeks are cheaper than just booking off of their site, on the order of 20-25% if I remember right).

And failing that, we just need to send you down there to kick some ass!

We have booked using the Temptations website before. For our dates, it is showing up as about the same as Expedia, so I'm going to use the Temptations site, using Steve's link and we'll see what, if any perks we get for booking a second time through the site.

I'm not really buying that we will be given premium bracelets but it's the same price whether we book using the site or not. Stay tuned.
