I usually pay between 1700 and 2000 for my Temptation trips (room, flight all taxes and fees - including the single person supplement) for a week. If you travel from Canada, I believe booking it as a package deal is the best way to go. Seems those in the US get screwed :-(
Even though you are a member you still pay a nightly fee - correct? When I was considering becoming a member, I crunched the numbers. Economy flight is usually between $5-700, then there was the TTR nightly fee plus airport transfers. Add to that the nice chunk of cash they wanted up front and it didn't seem like a good deal for those of us in Canada. My first trip in 2012 was about $1600 for a week. I'm not trying to be negative-honest. I'm just curious if I missed something. I understand the perks of premier but ...
you are correct, I still have to pay per night. Based on what I can see on prices from Calgary overall I tend to make out about even if I go for one week at a time, or come out ahead if I go longer (more days to flights ratio). As a single, based on the rate I pay with my contract a day is between 90 and 100. Add about 20 to 30 going as a couple etc depending on the time of year. Again you are right though, it's not an incredibly dramatic change.
Ok, i will bite. Lets be clear on what 'it' is. Are you saying they gave you a premier bracelet (obviously with the related perks) on your 2nd stay having booked thru them OR Are you saying you are now a premier member as a result of booking with them directly and staying with them twice, where you now are always a premier guest when booking with them in the future with the perks and the rates AND you didn't have to pay anything up front????
Yeah by the vagueness of 'it' I'd be inclined to be skeptical too. at the end of the day the hotel exists to make money.
No offence, but that's not true You may have been told it by someone but I guarantee it's not actually the case. We have booked maybe 10+ times directly through the resort and we are not Premier, never been mentioned.
A quick unashamed plug for little old me If you do decide to book through the resort directly and you feel cancuncare has been a useful resource for you then please click on one of the links here first. The words 'Temptation' and 'TTR' change into a link to the hotels site automagically and carry my id. The price will be the same for you but I'll make 15% for any bookings, but only if they carry my id. I find that booking with the hotel directly will rarely give you the best price. However, if you are booking last minute and the hotel is close to full (as we often do) they are always the last site to still have availability. The big boys like Expedia etc will always have availability pulled first, because they can send a ton of bookings in a short time period. One other advantage in booking direct with the hotel is that your reservation gets entered on the system immediately. Booking elsewhere normally means your reservation gets entered into the system about 2 weeks or so before your arrival date. At busy times when the hotel is overbooked and they are needing to bump people they will choose those who were last into the system to be the first to get bumped.
Great another fresh log of misinfo and rumour mongering to stir everyone up. This is simply inconceivable. You are not premier members after booking direct with the hotel twice. To be a member you would have to have a contract with all pertinent facts in black and white, that were bargained over often times gruelling hours. (i.e. # of nights, length of siad contract, AI fees, referals, benefactors etc.) I hate when silly and erroneous info is populated and circulated on these threads by non premiere members. Just a bugaboo of mine.
It was the same person I would like to see proof even a cut and paste from the booking page stating this. Would change the way people book. If it were true they would never sell another membership ,so there's your answer ?
