Could another option actually cause an issue? Are there enough of 'our kind of people' to support more than one resort of this type in Cancun and maintain the atmosphere we all so love at TTR? I really have no clue on my questions but I do know that 'more' often takes away from all resulting in a lost for everyone. Whichever way round it is I'm not sure. But TTR did it before the Internet was as huge as it is today, before Cancuncare, before Facebook, before Trip Advisor, before social interaction on sites such as those making it pretty remarkable that they did it at all. Nowadays it is not so difficult, launch a new concept and, with the right marketing and partners, tens of thousands of people can know about it within days.
I personally think there are enough of 'our kind of people' to keep two or more hotels successful. Here's some figures (let me know if I am omitting anything): TTR has 350 rooms, GOV has 400 or so. That's 750 rooms total. 750 rooms * 365 days = 273,350 available rooms per year Multiply by occupancy rate per room, lets say 1.8 to allow for singles = 492,030 people Divide by average stay, lets say 7 days = 70,290 people. So it would take 70,290 people to keep both hotels full all year round. 13 million passengers arrive at Cancun airport per year. That's the 2011 figure and is almost certainly higher now due to less fear of violence in Mexico, less fear of swine flu, better economy etc. Being topless, in the lifestyle and other 'adult sexy fun' traits are becoming more commonplace and will only increase the number of people looking for such a vacation. The combined population of the 3 countries that provide the bulk of tourism to Cancun is huge - US, Canada and UK combined - what 400+ million? There are also more and more people from Latin American countries visiting - Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile and more domestic tourists from Mexico seeking this type of vacation, and those countries are becoming more affluent. Also huge increases in recent years from tourists in countries such as Russia, Germany, Japan and Australia. Yeah, there's plenty of 'fun people' in the World and enough to fill two Cancun hotels I'm sure!
Just thought of another reason the amount of participation in the games blows me away just makes the day that much better and I do realize again that comes back to the amazing people who go there and the staff.
OK, so 10 trips in, 1 at BBG the other 9 formally at Temptation. In this day and age of the tourist industry competing so hard for the travel dollars, WHY on Earth would we go back to the SAME PLACE 10 times? Shoot, people ask us that all the time. Let's see, since our first trip to BBG in 2007, where else have we been.... Hmm, a list is coming... Canada, England, Spain, Italy, France, Bahamas, Netherlands Antilles, Virgin Islands (both U.S. & British). Hawaii (3x, Oahu and Maui only so far, Kuai in 2015 I think, Hawaii is neat. Expensive but neat.) Mexico, other places besides Cancun, in Cabo and Playa del Carmen. Shoot, other places in Cancun other than TTR, Excellence Playa Mujeres and Cancun Palace. .....and in NONE of those places do we have as much concentrated, intense, sometimes-drunken, oftentimes-scandalous and provocative, playful, laughingly-erotic goofiness and totally uninhibited FUN than at Temptation. We've met some of the best friends we could ever meet at Temptation, and it is only the distances betwixt our homes that keeps us "distant," when we are able to revisit those friendships, they bloom and flower as if we were only apart a day or so, even if it has been years. Shout-out to Graham & Diane; & Arny & Diane. Example of people who we can easily see fitting into this latest group are Kevin & Tamara (wait... kevione & Tamarrrrrrra, lol). Sexy fun people all, all totally into their partner, totally relaxed and goofy, and totally Man Enough and Unchallenged by the possibility that someone might want you to wear your wife's thong undies on stage during a game, or pour booze on your wife's boobs or butt and drink it off, whatever. The Key Component is that, everyone is nearly always laughing. Since I don't see so well, I keep track of the party temperature by the volume, consistency and feel of the laughter going on. Try it for yourself next time at the Sexy Pool, go tot he bar and get a drink, take one step back, and close your eyes while you drink the entire drink (shouldn't take but about 10 seconds if you get a TTR sippy cup, LOL, don't try with a Bubba Keg). You'll hear the low-grade humor all around you starting to warm-up at about 11:00 a.m. on a sunny day. if you're sober enough to do it again later, do it down IN the Sexy Pool at the swim-up bar at about 3:45 p.m.....You'll get a glimpse of what I mean. Plus, someone with no top on will probably come up and put something in yoru hand, which is nice. (Imaginations running wild all over the world right now, I can tell. Stop it, you perverts. I was referring to a drink, not a body part!) The people are what make TRTR what it is, and why we've been coming back. Weird thing, the people are what could cause us to go over to GOV, too, if a large mass of TTR folks do try to bum-rush their Naughty Pool, heh? I like that name. Makes me think of Lenni's Jodie going nude to win the Ironwoman a in Feb. of 2013. Come to think on it, all 3 of the contestants going full nude to keep up. Not only was it hot, duh, the competition was actually exciting and fun to just be around. THAT would NOT have happened at La Sammana pool on St. Martin, though that place is where Robert deNiro hangs out at $1K/night. Nope. Only at TTR. Appreciation goes to all the people who've made the BBG/Temptation experiences absolutely Awesome, including but not limited to and in no particular order as they simply flow from my thought: Steve, for this site; Janet, for keeping Steve mostly-functional; Chinos, for being the living party-Legend he is (he was working the BBG stage during the Ms. BBG contest our first trip ever, and it was RAUNCHY/HILARIOUS/GOOFY/HILARIOUS), Omar, a walking party, just hand him a mike and you'll find out; Tiger, hardest-working/fastest bartender I've ever watched work a double-sided bar all by himself and nobody going dry, Luis, for talking me into the membership which allowed Stacia & I to experience all those other places listed above; Jonathan, for not trying to force me into the trip around the resort I'd already been to 7 times by then; Melissa, for knocking the fuck out of that ganger with her clog (ask her); Pedro, for being the best poolside attendant/server EVER at TTR (he should still be there); Sarah69, for having more dick jokes than even Chinos; Antonio, Martha, Christina, Alejandro, for giving Stacia her first tits-out, nipple-sucking bodyshot ont he bar at Senor Frogs, mmmmmaaaannnnn that was fun. I could go on and on witht he worker people, they are all great. How about cool people we've met at TTR? In addition to Graham & Diane, pervy British friends from the U.K. we've hosted in Texas and visited in the Midlands, near Nottingham - and to whom, Diane especially, as she is single-handedly responsible for unleashing Stacia's bod on us all ("I dn't know why you are wearing that suit, dear. Your body is very nice, and if I an sit here with my tits out, you most certainly can."), there's the aforementioned Arny & Diane, our first Canadian Connection, Andy & Jackie, the Nashville hook-up for a party-boat, or just a party-room, .... you see, it could just keep on like the Energizer Bunny. Going and going and and going and and going and and going and ..... We LOVE TTR. We just want TTR to keep doing what it does, and doing it well.
