I posted this in my trip report, but I would have used a playlist like this one for 80s music in Paty O's: Take on Me [ame=]a-ha - Take On Me (Official Video) - YouTube Rock Lobster [ame=]The B52's - Rock Lobster - YouTube White Wedding (I love Mony Mony too, but that is not the only song he did - Dancing with Myself is also a great one - let's have some variety!!) [ame=]Billy Idol - White Wedding Pt 1 - YouTube Paradise City (I like Sweet Child of Mine too, but they play it every time they play their nine 80s songs, let's have some variety - it isn't that hard ...) [ame=]Guns N' Roses - Paradise City - YouTube We Got the Beat [ame=]Go-Go's - We Got The Beat (Solid Gold '82) - YouTube Sex (Berlin) - great song, and very much sets the mood [ame=]Berlin - Sex (I'm A) (Official Music Video Promo) - YouTube Blue Monday [ame=]New Order Blue Monday - YouTube Pour Some Sugar on Me [ame=]DEF LEPPARD - 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' (Official) - YouTube Let’s Go (could you just imagine everyone singing "I like the night life baby" - saw them live a few years ago and everyone was singing along to this one) [ame=]The CARS - Let's go!(1979) - YouTube Cum on Feel The Noise [ame=]Quiet Riot - Cum On Feel The Noize(WITH LYRICS) - YouTube could alternate with the other Quiet Riot song - Mental Health [ame=]Metal Health-Quiet Riot - YouTube Space Age Love Song - just love it!! [ame=]A Flock of Seagulls - Space Age Love Song - YouTube Relax (Don’t Do It) [ame=]Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax (Don't Do It) - YouTube Safety Dance (I know, stupid video, and what is with the effin midgets? great song, tho) [ame=]Men Without Hats - The Safety Dance(long version) - YouTube I Wanna Be Sedated (my anthem in high school - lol) [ame=]The Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated - YouTube Modern Love [ame=]David Bowie - Modern Love - YouTube Dance the Night Away (yeah, I like Jump and Panama, but this one is better) [ame=]Van Halen - Van Halen II - Dance The Night Away - YouTube Dancing with Myself [ame=]Billy Idol - Dancing With Myself - YouTube Rock of Ages [ame=]Def Leppard - Rock of Ages 1983 Video stereo widescreen - YouTube She Sells Sanctuary [ame=]The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary (music video) HD - YouTube You Spin Me Round (yes, I know - probably one of the stupidest 80s videos ever, I think it cost them $100 to make it - but great dance song! Better Karaoke song for sure!) [ame=]Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) - YouTube Summer of 69 (heard it on the Boobs Cruise, never at TTR) [ame=]Bryan Adams - Summer of 69 - YouTube And I'd throw in a few of these late 80s/1990 gems for good measure: Bust a Move [ame=]Young MC - Bust A Move - YouTube Ice Ice Baby [ame=]Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby - video original - YouTube U Can't Touch This [ame=]MC Hammer - U Can't Touch This - YouTube Walk This Way - Run DMC and Aerosmith (one of the best meldings of genres ever! back when rap didn't suck yet) [ame=]RUN-DMC - Walk This Way - YouTube I say that the DJs need to really look at expanding their playlists and having more variety - maybe having a 2 week cycle of nightly stuff so people don't feel like it is deja vu every night with the 80s mix - they played You Shook Me All Night, Living on a Prayer, Sweet Child of Mine, Come on Eileen, Mony Mony, Hurts So Good, and a handful of others I can't remember right now - but it was the same 80s playlist every night and that is pretty lame. It is so easy to find great songs and make a few mix CD's and have 15-20 minutes of different 80s music that you recycle weekly or every other week. I really would love a few nights of just 80s - they do most nights with the new-ish club music, and one night of 70s stuff - can't there also be a few hours of 80s?? With the average age of the guests in the mid-40s, that would seem appropriate to request.
