I guess it depends on the type of hotel you are looking for. I stayed at the Calinda Beach and Spa Hotel and we watched the ship leave every night. We were on one side and the Costa Real was on the other side. I don't think you can get much closer than those two. I am not sure how those hotels have come along after Wilma. Maybe someone else can answer that.
