goin to cancun for the first time next year from the UK so havent a clue which currency is best? us dollars or pesos? or dusnt it matter?
If you're coming from England, no need to convert to dollars. Just get pesos and you'll be fine. In fact, you'll probabaly make out better than people who pay in dollars. Bars/restaurants/clubs inthe hotel zone don't usually give the best exchange rate when charging in dollars.
Get money from the ATM. You get the best exchange rate that way. Though you may have to pay a flat rate ATM fee.
The ATM in Cancun won't charge you a fee but your bank may. Check with them to see what the fees for withdrawing in Mexico might be. Chances are even with a fee add by your bank it will turn out that getting your $ out of the ATM is the best way to go exchange rate wise.
YEah you don't want to convert through too many currencies...Pesos is good or American too I guess, just see which one you get the better rate on..
