yesss! I knew there would be someone that could understand my need to get off the resort.....i'll be sure to avoid chilly willies but we will definitely be exploring the surrounding area...it just gets really expensive getting a cabbie to go everywhere, and we don't like to stay still long! lol
If U decide to check out the local night life, I would ask one of the local bartenders (are any locals U befriends at the resort) for information. Even invite one to go as a chauffeur /guide (with tip of course...) Not sure if it is smart or safe , but, good luck with your adventure....

Over the years there have been several threads on this site with good info. Just punch in strip clubs in the search button. The 2 I know of are in sketchy parts of town. If you go, take a cab and have the cabbie stay with you in the bar. But really, the eye candy and show in the sexy pool, can't be beat. And the bar is free!!
Transportation is cheap in Cancun. Having an accident or getting pulled over by Mexican cops will cost you thousands. You may get n away with it, but not smart!
I'd rather not think about negative things like accidents or cops, I've down with plenty of people who have drive in and around cancun. ...just point me in the direction of the strippers!!!!, I'm leaving my mom home. ..thanks again
been to a handful of strip clubs away from the hotel zone over the years. i always just ask the cabbie and off we go. They seem to open up, shut down, re-open elsewhere so every trip there seems to be a new one. Never felt unsafe about any situation and the people working at the strip clubs always treated us like VIP's. The locations, neighborhoods and buildings can be kinda sketchy but I can name a few strip clubs here in Minneapolis I wouldnt go near, ever
