Wow what a thread and oh so true. I almost want to make another thread on this, but TTR fills an incredible void. The timezone issue makes Cancun much easier to do short trips from the midwest, rather than vegas...Leave early on your first day, stay late last day. Still home by 9
Great point about the time zone. Doing Vegas, I almost always lose a day on the return trip. Really sucks. For it to be worth it I have to be out there for several days, but the problem is, Vegas burns me out in about 48-72 hours...
Totally agree Kyle. Service is over the top. I never went a minute without a drink in my hand and i seemed to have a new ashtray every time i had a smoke. Lucky you on the trip booked before TTR! Looking forward to meeting you guys next month!
We spent our 20th anniversary last year at Mandalay. Two days spent hanging at the Moorea Bay Pool and one day at The Nugget in downtown. The days at the pool were very fun, we made friends and had a great time. But it had nothing on Temptations. The friends we made on our trip, the sexual environment, the beautiful people don't come close to comparing.
No, this was last December at hard rock. He goes there a lot, I guess. The week after was the adult Avn expo. He was not thrilled when I asked for a pic, but it was totally worth it!
I couldn't get a picture at the topless pool, I tried to be nonchalant about using my iPhone camera but was being watched by employees and did not want to get kicked out. I think they were on major alert because of all the adult film stars there and were told to enforce the 'no pictures or else' rules. Boo!
We went to Vegas in June of 2011 for our first trip. Stayed at the Mirage and went to the Bare pool. Yes it is expensive but the service is great. But we won't be going back. We live 3 miles from the Hard Rock Casino here in Tulsa. Why travel to Vegas for the same thing here? So now it's TTR for us!
I loved Bare at the Mirage, the drinks and service were great. So we're all in agreement, whoever wins the lottery first must invest in more resorts like this
Vegas is a 45 minute flight for us and while I still love it when I'm there, I hate it when I pay the bill. We usually stay at the Hotel at Mandalay and went to check out Moorea on our first visit. We walked to the entrance and looked at wall-to-wall people, most of them 20-something bros there for titties and beer, turned around and walked up to the quiet Lagoon Pool. Met some nice people and had a great time. The last time we went, the pool went from a quiet hangover recovery spot for adults to a place where people brought their kids to do cannonballs. We thought we found the way around the high price of drinking by stopping at Fat Tuesday's, getting a refillable mug(s) with extra shots and taking it to the pool. Mandalay Bay apparently decided they didn't want that anymore and don't allow outside drinks at the pools any longer so instead of paying $15 for a 32 oz. slush, they charge that for an 8oz margarita (or $90 for a pitcher!) or $35 for a bucket of 5 shitty beers. I haven't been to Temptation yet, but the bar has been set pretty low for the comparison to Vegas for me.
