We've always booked through Expedia up until this trip. We had bad flights last time (19 hours trip there) so we booked through Sunwing this time. Was a little more money, but direct flights which is a huge plus! Dollar sucks regardless.
Expedia is just a booking agent ,, Sunwing is a Vacation airline with Expedia you can book a huge variety of airlines , they are just a booking tool , the airline you pick,, Expedia has no control over. What they do have control is how thing are handlede when thing go wrong. Sunwing has the worst record in Canada with only 48% of flights taking of on time,,, and the have the longest delays , when they are delayed. I was delayed 30 hours on a 7 day Sunwing package ( $4,500),, their solution was a $25 meal coupon in a closed airport , that could not be used at the sports bar ( only thing open), and a 150$ credit for next trip ( 1 year limit),, needless to say I ripped it up , I wouldn't fly them on a free ticket. reason for the delay ,, the pilots would have been over there alloted flight time by 1,5 hours, and they did not have replacement crew, so they sent the crew home to sleep.
We use Breakaway Travel out of Oshawa, ON March 5th -12th $3100.00 with Transat. Definitely up from the $2300 last year. Still the best deal we could find. Good luck!!
I have booked with Expedia many times but this last trip NEVER EVER AGAIN! Find the deal online and book through a travel agent

We booked through the hotel and got our flights through westjet. Sell off vacations had an amazing deal, but only lasted a few hours.
