I'm a travel agent, got an email about a travel agent special at BBG. Started researching it, found a link to CC through trip advisor. Got on this board 5 days before my first trip. The rest is history. I have at least 100 new friends since I have been on here. met my best friend on this site. Love you Steve. :daveandmo:
In '87 I stayed at the plaza Las Glorias. The places all worked on mexican time back then. The service was slow and poor by our standards. Forget about getting anything during mid-day. It sure didn't look like it does today. Remember Cancun was just a fishing village and the hotel zone did not exist until probably the start of the 70's.
In the hotel zone.... Christine's Disco, located where Bulldog Cafe is now, next to Krystal Hotel. Also the Hard Rock Cafe was good back then, when it was over behind Plaza Caracol. And Carlos n Charlies, when it was in its old location, heading toward downtown Cancun. Downtown....my favorite was Risky Business.
I :lotsoflove: Risky Business/Risky Times :!: :!: :!: (I've heard it referred to as both.) Many a morning leaving that place... like 8AM...
Risky Business was the name it was back in the late 80's to mid 90's. I can't remember when it was switched to Risky Times, but that's the current name, if it's even still open.
I know, I know. One of these days, I have to dig out my old photo albums and scan some pix. I can guarantee a good laugh !
