Good to see what passes the time for everyone, seems like a lot of you turn it into a 2 time a year visit, which has tempted us, but reality with the kiddos smacks us in the face reminding us that we probably wont have the time to run "OUR" vacation and the "kid friendly vacation with the kiddos",,, ultimately going to a 2 time a yr. vaca when the kids are gone, is going to be a priority. But for now we still have boating on the weekends, and partying late night ,and the always wishing time would go faster towards our next visit to TTR. But since it is only a once a year visit for now the suspense is already building for next feb or march......:lotsofmichaelfs::lotsofmichaelfs:
midwestern Hey, maybe you need to give us a heads up when you occasionally make that trip, so that we can maybe bump in to you guys and we could conveniently have our boat with us, to put in the water, or Mark twain Lake, I think it would be closer.
silly adults I love the quote "Lots of places to act like Silly adults", isn't that what we are all looking for!!:icon_mrgreen:
And, have you been to Reno lately? That place is going down the tubes. All of the big Indian casino resorts that have been built in NorCal in the last 10 years have really put the hurt on Reno. Shorter drive and no Donner Summit parking lot action to deal with. So now most people stay closer or do it up and go to Vegas.
Spent 4-nights in Havasu last week with 500 of our closest friends, had a blast. Too many kids in Copper Canyon. Reno is still great - we rarely gamble, go there for the resort pools, to visit all of our friends and have a few decent meals while living it up at local party spots or doing one of the famous "pub crawls". With UNR there, they still have lots of great concerts, lots of night-life downtown, AAA baseball with the Aces, and lots of excellent festivals that still draw well over 100K visitors. (Hot August Nights, Rib Cook-Off, Street Vibrations, Air Races, Hot Air Balloon festival, Euro Fest & many more). Excellent hiking trails, Virginia City, & you can raft the Truckee river.
