You’re going to get a lot of conflicting responses as it’s all a matter of opinion, and depends on your expectations and priorities. I’d say it all boils down to price, temperature and company. Do you want to party with a big group of CCC repeaters, or go when the time suits you? Is scorching hot weather a must or keeping costs down important? As far as weather is concerned, the coolest months are in winter (November, December, January?) Some people don’t mind this, as prices are a bit lower and the hotel never reaches capacity (meaning less chance of being bumped, easier to swap rooms, get reservations / service at the bars etc.) For others the drop in temperature is a deal breaker. The pool can get cold when they don’t heat it, meaning only the brave and drunk attempt to party it up in the pool all day. They do occasionally heat the Sexy Pool, but it’s sporadic at best. The sun also sets earlier in winter, shadowing the pool, so the daytime party naturally winds down a lot earlier than in the months when the sun is at its highest. I’ve heard the party can get pretty wild at the Sexy Pool going into early evening in the summer months! When I go (December), most of our group tend to retreat for tactical naps by 5pm, since the pool chill and setting sun dampens the party – things pick up again at Paty O in the evening though. I guess there’s the opposite problem for the hottest months (June, July and August?) I’ve heard it can get very humid, almost too hot. For me personally, those really high temperature months would be too much. My hair wouldn't take the frizz and I’d suffer from the increase of mosquitoes. There’s also a rainy season in Cancun (you’d have to research when that is) and I know personally I wouldn't want to book during that time – some trip reports where it’s rained for five days straight look pretty miserable. Do you want to mingle with big groups of repeaters on Cancuncare or would you rather just party with a few smaller groups? I think the biggest months for repeaters are April and May, with other big group gatherings going on in February, June, early-September, late-October and mid-November / early December. Benefit of going when a lot of repeaters go is that it’s easy to mingle and there’s always someone from the forum up and partying any given time of day. There’s more people up for participating in the games, more chance of a Boobs Cruise running during your stay, and more people participating in CCC theme nights too. If you want to go when a big group is going, check back through the past roll calls to see the ones that are popular. I guess it’s worth considering that although April and May has the biggest repeater groups – I’d say a downside to this is the fact the hotel fills up quickly, and Boobs Cruises sell out almost as soon as they’re listed. With the resort at capacity, it’s probably fair to say there’s a greater chance for issues with getting reservations to restaurants when you want them, getting drinks at the bar, reserving pool chairs etc. I guess everyone has an opinion of which time of year is best. All valid reasons. I’m happy with the time I go (mid-November / early-December) because the pros far outweigh the cons for me. I can handle the cold pool water and it’s probably a good idea I don’t stay drinking in the Sexy Pool past 5pm as I’d never make it out to the bar at night! There are enough repeaters to make it a fun group, but not so many for cliques to develop – there’s plenty of room to mingle with everyone, without anyone feeling left out. There's also a high percentage of singles that go back that time of year. It makes the group pretty diverse taking the focus off couples-only fun.
The biggest reason for the conflicting info is that people go at different times all year long so whenever you have gone ... That is the best... I don't know that there is a bad time with such fun people. I have done Feb and Aug and two very different crowds but still a blast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stacia & I've been to TTR in February, March, April, May, July, August, September, October and November. Too cold for us (Laugh it up, Canadians!) in December and January. Definitely NOT getting in the water in either the Gulf or the pool December-January, and at Patyo's at night, WAY to chilly of a breeze for Stacia to wear the skimpy stuff, she complains about being cold the entire time... so, nope. Just haven't had the cosmic magic align the planets to join the June Junkies yet, and we're probably missing out. Did nakify July once, that was a hit. Our bestest, favoritest time is probably April-May, the Addicts and MayHEMers are a great crowd to party with at all times. Slightly better for us in May, as in April, sometimes still cool enough to start to border on uncomfortable at times during the evenings. August is great, too. TTR attendance is a little lower, but the people there are fantastic as always!
We love the end of Feb. We have gone in January but weather can be volatile. We just returned and thought August was great. Pool is very warm, almost too warm. It was not as hot as you would think and much nicer than in the USA. We went to Mexico to escape the heat and humidity!
