Does anyone know if Breathless has weeks where travel groups visit or do take-overs like at TTR/Desire/Hedo? Some of those weeks might be weeks to avoid or join, but you can get a idea what the crowd might be like based on the group.
Avoid the weeks when there are conventions and you should be good. We overlapped a couple days with a convention of a self help guru / metaphysical healing using butterfly nets and brain wave sensors. Not our cup of tea and the entertainment staff was pretty apologetic to the party crowd. Once they were gone all was good.
When we stayed at Desire, I don't remember them letting any people strolling through linger at all. I hope this policy of letting others hang out there continues. How fun are the foam parties? Does the crowd get into it? We saw foam parties at other resorts that were kind of a dud. Could be that because of the average age at Secrets/Excellence seems to be a little higher. The 55+ crowd definitely didn't get very wild. We're hoping the demographic is not like that.
Part of the pool where the foam party was at was packed every time...we did not participate in the foam party just because its not our cup of tea but there were lots of couples and people partying it up when the foam was flying...
We had a blast at the foam parties when we were there last March. Other than a few obnoxious drunks and at our final one someone actually threw up in the pool so it got cut short. But overall a lot of fun, nice, non-judgemental people. There were plenty of topless ladies when we were there. That pretty much ended up being our group of friends for our stay. The hot tub behind the foam party pool is where we ended up most days. It got a little steamier there in the evening. Not liking that they are shutting it down at 8 now. That was where the fun people hung out to wind down the pool day.
Great to hear that the demographic at Breathless seems to trend more fun than other places. Does the resort have a catamaran cruise/booze cruise/snorkel trip offered? We have done those at other places and some have been enjoyable, especially if the crowd going is fun. The Boobs Cruise from TTR seems to get a lot of praise on this site of course, but we were wondering if there was one that left from Breathless. A fun excursion can be a welcome diversion.
I don’t know that there is anything that departs from breathless but they have an excursion desk as most of the resorts do to book trips if you’d like. There is a great snorkel trip just down the beach in Puerto Morales.
we will be there from 14th - 18th. Went to breathless Punta Cana last november and had a blast! I get exactly what your saying ThumbsUp, and hoping for. We feel the same way and are hoping for the same result. I can promise, my girlfriend is not afraid to get the party started! We aren't part of the Life Style, but have friends who are and always have fun hanging with them and new friends we meet on vacation. We love to let loose and be sexy. oh and she never packs underwear or bras!
For those hoping for a more adventurous crowd at Breathless this piece of a recent Tripadvisor review sounds promising. "8)Adults are having a raging good time. Especially at the pool party, there were pool shenanigans and people in rooms displaying their shenanigans, which made for lots of entertainment. This visit, particularly more than last time I stayed here, many women were topless also. " Of course it is all in who is there at the time.
