Bring some powder french vanilla, or vanilla carmel coffee creamer if you like that for you coffee. They don't have any there and the coffee is pretty strong. We bring the powder with us cause can't keep the other cold while traveling.

Lot's of singles for tipping. We go and get two hundred in just one's for tipping. Even out your money and bring small bills. 5's and 10's and 1's. They only give you change in pesos. So if something is $3.00 and you give them a $20 all your change will be in pesos. When you ask how much something is always say USD is how your paying so they will convert it for you. The gift shop is good with converting to USD. But if you venture out anywhere and use USD. Somehow they don't speak english after they recieve your USD. (how weird he was just talking to me in English a second ago lol). Also if you venture out to buy souviners everything is negotiable.

Wish I'd given more thought to what I would do with my hair. Long frizzy locks don't agree with pool water and humidity! Plus my straighteners (even though they're universal voltage) didn't work, so had to make do most holiday. Going to check out products beforehand next time and get something that works.

I'm assuming it was because they're from the UK. They are 'dual voltage' which is meant to work in USA and Mexico, but they simply wouldn't heat up enough at TTR to get my hair into any shape whatsoever!

Hair culing tong I had (again dual voltage) worked fine though.

So glad so many others share my inability to not overpack. Try as I might, i just can't get it right...

Also think I need to up my tip money amount - i tend to get crazt generous/completely forgetful when I'm drinking. Bad combo for holding onto money lol

Ohh....and I pack my stuff in the bags that let out air and shrinks it down. It allows me to take more clothes in my suitcase. I just get worried about the weight. I have a travel machine that weights my luggage so I knohw if I am over the limit or not...It is so helpful because I avoid that last minute freak out when we check in to go home and don't know if we are over the limit or not.
