Way more Fireball - that was a big hit and we were out by the second day. They don't sell it anywhere down there, no one even heard of it at the liquor stores and they don't sell it in the duty free shop.

I also wish I had brought cold medicine my first trip, especially Nyquil. I came down with a cold the day before we left and had to guess at the stores what the shit was they were selling, and they didn't have any Nyquil at the drug stores. I was dying on the way home, so I suggest bringing whatever medicines you know work just in case you get sick. The Imodium is probably a really good one, just in case you sample some local food :)

We brought a big bag to check our second time and brought our own pillows - made it much better!!

I also brought better shoes this last time, flip flops that don't slip around in the pool or on the tile - and NO BRUISES this time :)

We ALWAYS take our insulated mugs and we like to take our own beach towels. They provide them, but we worry about getting them back to the right place on time and them getting 'misplaced' or accidentally picked up by someone else. Besides, it's so helpful for us to see our seats. Jeff is great at going out to put them on our chosen chairs early in the morning before people start getting out there.

I agree about the clothes. I am probably only going to take like 3 outfits that are 'normal' and I would wear here. 1 to travel down and 1 to come back and an extra. We don't leave the resort except to go home and maybe to town one day for souvenirs. All my other clothes will be swimsuits or theme night clothing.

Im going to try sooo hard not to make this same mistake this year!! My hubby & the poor bellboys always give me a look when they try to pick up my suitcase!!:blueshock: Lol. I only end up wearing 1/4 of the clothes I pack (& its always a pain in the ass having to unpack all of it when we get home too)....so this year WAY less clothes (cant say the same for my shoes though!! lol)!! Also I totally agree with all those who said to bring your own medicines. One of our first trips to Mexico we were doing a photo shoot & I was leaning against a wall that had some kind of climbing plants on it...thought it looked pretty for the pics. Well the next day I woke up with a horrible, nasty looking, extremely itchy rash all over my arms. Musta been poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac or some kinda poison something! I was miserable! I put some triple aid ointment or cortisone cream on it that I had packed but it didnt seem to make a bit of difference so my hubby had to go down to the gift shop(this was at desires & I dont think there was a pharmacia nearby) & we ended up paying an arm & a leg for some benedryl & as everyone has also said any medicine you buy down there is written in Spanish so it is nearly impossible, unless you know Spanish, to even know if you are buying the right thing!! Lesson learned!! Now I pack my own little pharmacia with me so I have something to cover pretty much any type of malady. Jess

lol that is sooooo true. I always pack at least 3 pairs of sunglasses and 3 pairs of flip flops and I'm lucky to come back home with any at all!

Even the cheap stuff in the gift stores are expensive so better to bring extras and be prepared to lose them :partytime:
