disposable bed pads to keep from soaking the mattress...sheets are changed each day, mattresses not so much!

depending on how much electronics you bring, an extension cord or power strip

and most of all fun and accepting attitudes to have the time of your lives...

The pharmacy across the street from TTR has sunscreen at about the same price you pay in US. They also have other useful things, like fins and snorkel sets, condoms, viagra :)
    Bring cash for tips.

Haven't yet been to TTR, but we've learned a lot from other trips around Mexico, Jamaica and the DR: big rubber bands to secure towels to chairs, small bottle of glasses cleaner and at least two cloths (sunscreen is a bitch to remove from sunglasses), caffeine pills to rally after late nights, a Bluetooth speaker to play tunes poolside and to boost the sound of white noise apps to help drown out loud bars/neighbors, earplugs to do the same, and (this is me being a bit of a diva) a small, soft, fleece blanket to fold up and place under the towel on my pool chair (after 2+ days of sunbathing on those suckers, my ass starts to hurt!)

I will answer the part about what you brought but didn't use:
    1. The 16 extra pairs of shoes my wife packed.
    2. So many 'normal' clothes.
    3. bikini Tops
    4. Your Dignity.
    5. Work electronics (phone, ipad, etc.). LEAVE IT HOME!

Bring less regular clothes- never get used.
    Bring Electrolytes
Sexier clothes for theme nights in addition to what you first plan.

Last year we went 2 times the first time we took 3 Bags: 2 carry on and 1 checked. The second time we took two carry on and that was it.

What I(Alicia) bring 3 pairs of shoes. One heal, one flip flop, one comfortable wedge for dancing. I bring all metallic shoes so they match everything I wear. Our first trip last year I had I think 14 pairs of shoes. (insert eye roll here)

Always bring your bubba mug or other version and I always bring my drink life raft, normally my duck.

Hat, with a medium brim so my face is covered.

Sunscreen for the body and zinc stick for my face.

I bring two normal outfits, one for the plane ride home(yes one year i forgot about this and had to hand wash something for it) and one for a trip to Isla Mujeres.

Thanks y'all. This is extremely helpful.

Also, are tops required at the theme night parties?

No problem at all, we are all happy to help :)

Yes tops are required for theme night parties. Sometimes people have worn very sheer tops or just pasties and that isn't a problem. Sometimes it is a problem based on how security is that night or what theme it actually is. Right now we are unsure how this will exactly be handled after the reopen, but I would err on the side of caution.

Generally in all inside areas tops or coverups are worn, and I would expect this to stay the same.

Nipples must be covered on the ladies but that could be just pasties. Of course these are the old rules and could be changing so make sure you pay attention to the reports after the august soft opening.

I always bring one of these :

Amazon.com : Universal Waterproof Case Glow in Dark Dry Bag for iPhone 7/6/6S Plus/5/5s/5c Galaxy S7/S7 Up To 6.0 " (Pink) : Sports & Outdoors

Not sure about the new keys, but the old key cards - I just put it strip side out to the clear plastic, and I never had to fumble for my key card, just wave the whole pouch over the door sensor & worked great. I use it as my pool purse - key card, tip $, and a piece of paper with my room # on it (folded so it's not visible), but it came in handy on a few drunken attempts at returning to my room. (thanks Trish!) I don't trust it for my phone, or more-so, I don't trust my drunken self properly sealing it. lol
