Tragically Hip. Haven't thought of that band in ages. My top 5 Canadian rockers of all time.....hmmmm Rush April Wine Triumph Saga Tragically Hip Loverboy just misses out, lol.
Absolutely great set of bands! Interesting you mention Loverboy but their music as well as ZZ Top's in the early 80's inspired me to become a drummer when I was just but a wee lad and I've been drumming ever since. Loverboy is a great set of guys if you ever have the chance to catch a show (yes they're still rockin') and have the opportunity to meet them after. I might have to slide The Guess Who, BTO, Neil Young and perhaps Nickelback into that Canadian list! BTW - once I got into drumming, naturally I was very quickly inspired by Rush and Neil Peart's drumming - world class stuff....
Neil Young would be in, but I was thinking "bands". BTO, and the Guess Who, while both outstanding, were a little (very little) before my time. Peart is simply the best! Saw Loverboy back in 1982 with Kansas!
Don't know if these have been mentioned yet... Bryan Adams-I Wanna Be Your Underwear Nickleback-Something in Your Mouth Katy Perry-I Kissed a Girl All classically silly songs.....
This is a blast from the past because I drove to Belgium in 93 to see Metallica and Tragically Hip opened the festival. Neil Young, Sonic Youth, The Black Crowes and Lenny Kravitz were also on the bill. Can't remember the others but it was definatley worth the 9 hour drive. Rush are one of the best bands I've ever seen live, amazing how three men can put on such a great show.
Just spent a week putting new stuff on the creative zen( :double finger: ipods) and went for a bit more varied stuff than before so now it includes AC/DC The Four Horsemen Gov't Mule Jimi Hendrix The Rolling Stones Blue Floyd (Blues super group play Pink Floyd - yeah it sounds weird but is actually very good) Annie Lennox Allman Bros Led Zeppelin Black Keys The Doves Humble Pie Hawkwind Peter Frampton Johnny Cash Masters of Reality Plus a good selection of House and Jazzy stuff and I will definately be packing my portable speakers for music in our room.
If I had an IPod and had it with me at TTR, a towel would be on it because I am in the pool or at the bar! :beerdrink: :lotsofmichaelf:
I have my waterproof cover ready so I can listen to my tunes in the pool. Just put the new Heaven & Hell (aka black sabbath with dio)on my ipod and it's truely class. Also added the new Duff McKagen, Brett Michels and A classic Pearl Jam album to it. Got so much new stuff to listen to.
