What would you do if you found out a co-worker that you don't really talk to was going to be at TTR the same time as you? What about your boss? What would you do if you just saw them there? No this isn't happening to me I am just thinking how weird it would be after coming back from there......you think y'all would be closer? Would it be awkward???? Hopefully this doesn't happen to me this trip. Although I do see someone on here that we have mutual friends....is it like Vegas what happens at TTR stays at TTR? I have that mentality.... just wanted your thoughts.
What a nightmare I would be nervous, but everyone is going on vacation and everyone wants to have fun. Don't let that ruin your party!
Agreed...might as well approach them and get it out of the way. "Interesting seeing you here" then a little small talk...but pretty quickly "how about we agree to keep this between us?" Probably would be a relief for both parties. "Let's get a shot/drink and talk about how many times you have been here...or how you found the place" If they are there, they are probably more like you thann you realized.
Oh I am about 99% sure I won't see from work. And I could really care less what my "friends" or "friends of friends" think.... but could you imagine....... going out to the sexy pool and seeing a co worker...... I wonder if that has ever happened lol
I guess that really comes down to who you work with and where you work. My old job was a small software company and everyone was cool and fun (except the hardcore programers, nice dudes but not very social. Except with World of Warcraft and their Mountain Dew). Lots of us did hangout outside of work. It wouldn't have been a problem to see my boss or co-workers. Might have been strange to see the CEO there. I bet we would talk, but hang out in different areas. My new job is pretty conservative. Shirt and tie everyday, nothing but fluff conversation. 90% of the people here don't really do anything. Today I have already heard "...had an amazing time this weekend mowing the lawn, and was able to get in a long distance bike ride." "O man, that sounds great!". So I just pretty much want to smash may head through my monitor. Needless to say I don't talk to very many people (part of the reason I am pretty active on the forum). If I actually was to find out a co-worker was going to TTR, it would be amazing, and maybe after 2 years I would finally have a person to talk to here. As for my boss...yea that is never going to happen. So no risk there. He actually lives close to me and is always telling me when and where he sees my truck (it's pretty noticeable black FJ cruiser with a duck smoking a cigar hood ornament, and a large skull with lightning bolt crossbones decal on the hood). I have to hear "Steve I saw your truck at Fairways(my bar) this weekend. What were you doing?" "I was hanging out and drinking." "Well it was there Friday, Saturday and Sunday." "Yeah I love hanging out and drinking." He just walks away confused. But if I was to see a boss, and he was someone cool. I wouldn't have issue with it. Hopefully his wife is hot
I wouldnt care. I work in refineries. lol. She is HR for a large company. She would absolutely shit bricks. She would want to avoid them. I would end up talking to them and assuring her that THEY are here too and what are they going to say?
