a couple of small scented candles just in case your room has a musty smell. If you're sensitive it will help. Someone recently suggested to save up or find where you can get the silica packs that soak up moisture. Put them in your luggage to take care of the dampness that plagues us all.
Some of the rooms do not have a clock in them, so if that is something that matters to you and you didn't bring your phone it might help. I kept wishing the whole trip I had a cheap watch I could have on the beach/in the boat/by the bed...
I second this. We left $3 the first day with a note that said "Mas agua por favor" and left $2 more every day after that, and by the end of the week we had more bottles of water than we needed. Of course you should be tipping your maids a couple of bucks everyday anyway. They work hard cleaning up our shit. Plus if they like you, they might leave you a towel swan one of the days
