Holy Cow! They pay a separate stipend for spanish here, on top of the regular salary! But I do understand wanting to go south, cause the weather anyplace north of the mason dixon line is a killer after November! Also keep in mind that alot of southern states aren't unionized so the salary's truly suck compared to the north. My mom's sister retired after a lifetime of teaching in Arkansas and she NEVER made more than $30K a year working for the little rock school district. I was absolutely dumbfounded when she told me that! I've got other relatives in Oklahoma & Texas who don't make much either compared to northern salaries and the amount they pay for expenses doesn't make up for the difference in salary either. Cost of living down south is cheaper in general, but not soo much cheaper that you can live a similar lifestyle in both places for doing the same work....... In any event, I truly admire you for going into the field of education. It's one of the most noble of professions, least respected, and most critical to the future of our country! Kudos! Michelle
Well thanks so much Michelle!...I just love kids and I've ALWAYS wanted to teach! I'll have to look into other areas once I get my degree!

I want to go to europe too....experience a different culture, and to say that i have been there before...
europe is ok i suppose im just bored of it, the eifel tower, the coloseum etc yawn.but yes see it once, then get back to cancun! i am getting married in italy though!! i would highly reccommend barcelona.brilliant nightlife.also amsterdam, berlin, and if you can hop on a ferry from barcelona go to IBIZA for a few nights - party capital of the world.just be wary of all the drunk brits off their tits on ecstasys but still very friendly. u should definately visit london, and if u get time, go to manchester in the north wherei live, the men are far better looking than in the south!lol. best place to visit for history and culture is Rome. just make sure u take plenty of spending money!!xx
as of now im studying in salamanca spain and taking a few sidetrips with school...on my own im going to barcelona, seville, london, venice, berlin, amsterdam, prague
