As far as towels... I carried mine on the plane with me and used it as a blanket when I got cold on plane. That way it didn't take up room in luggage or carry ons. When we got to cancun I managed to stuff it in my carryon but it didn't zip all the way.
Husband here, To add to the reason for bringing our own towels, last year we had a small issue with getting our seats taken by someone. Ended up being a little misunderstanding and we all moved past it, but we figure with our own towels marking our seats their will be no confusion about who's chair is who's.
That makes sense. I always stress about that. If I stumble out of bed at 6:30 in the morning and grab a chair then take a little nap and come back at 9 I am in no mood to deal with a chair controversy. We usually leave a bag and books. We spend a good amount of time in the chairs, compared to others, enjoying the sun before the party starts. Hate that we are not arriving until 2something on the 4th.
We are going on spirit and I'm gonna see what we can put into our backpacks lol. Bags don't fly free...
