Gonna add a couple packs of jacuzzi jet cleaner to the list after seeing Sultryfox's pics on FB... And if anyone ever books a jacuzzi suite at the Cabo location, bring along a chlorine tab. Trust us.
Canadian currency isn't great for them there. It's hard for them to convert, US dollars are the way to go! -Ingram
No idea if chlorine tabs are "allowed" in checked luggage...but check it out. You'd probably only have to explain briefly at Customs/Immigration and they'd let you through...we'd hope anyway.
Chlorine Pucks would take too long to dissolve to make any difference, if your not interested in changing rooms, ask the front desk for either a maid to come to the room with bleach, or go across the street and buy your own for a few bucks. Fill the Jacuzzi up with hot water just past the jets about 1" or 2", then add the half a bottle of bleach to it and run the jets for a good 20 to 30 minutes. Drain the tub, rinse it, then repeat to ensure its clean. All the black grid is from is old soap, dead skin, and body oils as the jacuzzi has been used more as a bath tub then a jacuzzi and the old soap has gone moldy, it happens all the time for those who have jacuzzi and don't clean them at least once a month like mentioned above. The resort should do this more often themselves as I have seen this in mentioned in a few threads already, thankfully our room only has a shower which is perfectly fine for us.
Wondering what size mug to bring. We've already got 500mL (20oz) mugs. But I'm thinking of upgrading to a 52oz bubba keg for $10. Or is that overkill?
We have 34oz'ers. We're happy with them, and we'd be happy with 20oz'ers too. Or 52's. You're in the sexy pool, your drink is staying cold and there's no pool water getting in it. Life is good, no matter what size Bubba keg you've got! I wouldn't worry about getting a different one.
This is my Bubba Keg, anything bigger your drink gets warm by the end or watered down from the melted ice or you can check here for different sizes and shapes bubba cup - Google Search
The bubba keg is perfect. We brought those the first time but had trouble with the lids because we didn't have a straw. We brought 20 oz cups with lids this last time and they were not big enough - 32 oz is a good size. The jacuzzi in room 1140 was disgusting, we didn't have any trouble with the other 2 suites we have stayed in. The jacuzzi on the patio in room 1106 was also fine, no gross stuff in the jets. Your list is good - I would add water shoes with grippy soles to the list for those slippery days. I had my Keen hiking sandals with me, but they take a long time to dry when it is humid and were heavy in the pool - were great when going to town or the ruins, though. Flip flops are not good when your feet are wet, unless the straps really come down far on your feet and hold them in place. My feet would slide around when they were wet in my flip flops, and they didn't grip well on the tile. Michael's water shoes worked great, he didn't slip once. Bring cold medicine just in case, it is crazy expensive and an unknown brand if you buy it there. Bring travel size eye drops too! We brought a big rolling duffle bag since we were checking a bag anyway, and brought our comfy feather pillows. If you like soft pillows, this is a good idea. If going for a week, bring 3 bathing suit bottoms at least and rotate through them. The humidity makes them take longer to air dry. The Temptation Suites have iPod docks, but I don't think the other rooms do. You'll want little speakers for the iPod if you want music in the room. The first time I went I brought way too much clothes. This last time I brought 3 sarongs, airplane clothes, and a couple shirts/shorts - and the stuff for the theme nights. The sarongs work great there - can be dressed up or down pretty easy and are perfect for warm humid days/nights. I went pretty much commando in sarongs when not wearing a bathing suit - was weird to wear a bra when I got home ...
