Hawaii is absolutely perfect in January. But Cancun is fine too, just not sunny hot. It is decent, about 75-79 degrees during the day, and about 65 at night. One week I was there in January it never hit 80, though, but that doesn't mean the drinks weren't still tasty.
I would like to offer some props to October. We were there the last week in 2010. High 80's -low 90's everyday. Very little rain, (pretty much the end of hurricane season) Pool and ocean temps were great. Resort is at about 60-70 occupied, which resolves all issues with dinner reservations, saving chairs by the pools, or overbooking. We are heading back this year. (hoping to make this a yearly event!) Paul
We went in the end of January. It was low to mid 70's and cloudy during the day. All of the girls had sweat shirts on the Boobs Cruise. We were very glad they decided to heat the hot tubs in the sexy pool. We will not go in January again. That being said, it was still our best vacation ever!!
We also been in the october and november times and we liked it. But we are not hard to please anyday away from work is a good day.lol
We've been during April, May and September and have to say May has been the best. Cancun itself was too full of childish spring breakers during April and the crowd was quite old during September. May has always been a perfect mix of great people and great weather. This May was just EPIC lol
Before we moved to Cancun, May was always our favourite time. - not too hot like July and August - its not in high season so hotel prices are good - kids are in school so flight prices are good - weather in Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb can be chilly at times (for us locals) - a very dry month with little to no rain - hotel is usually full - no chance of a hurricane Now we have to endure it year round though
July is the hottest average month in Cancun. January is the coldest month. And it is not so much the heat in July, but it is the humidity. You just walk outside of your air conditioned room and you can feel the sweat start pouring. It was a hell of a time getting pictures taken because electronics would just get all hazy going from the room to the outdoors. And in July, even at night, it is really hot and humid. I think it only gets down to a low of 80-degrees in July at night.
We are going October 26-Nov 3. We go at this time to celebrate our anniversary and Lauras birthday. Can't wait! Will
