What is with the prices!!!??? Holy hell!

We are looking at 10 days in Feb around week 8. Holy crap!!! Hotel only thru Orbitz and Expedia is $318 per night. About $3500 for the stay. Alpharooms it is about $2900 but only a twin/double room. there are no other room options apparently. We have lots of airmiles so the flight will be cheap from Northern BC. Needless to say, we have not booked yet.

Its going to be more this year, needless to say...sigh....
We were thinking of a hop into say denver or something, then onto cancun. Will have to sit with a travel agent and see what we can do. I want to go, but not if its going to be 5 grand from Edmonton. I think we were quoted 3900 + Tax, would have to double check the email. That makes the total around 4500 ;(

Where the hell are yall finding some of those good deals? !!!, The CHEAPEST I can find last year was $2000 for 5 nights out of Tulsa... And believe me, I searched high and low, almost daily to find that.

 

Well the key variable for everyone is where they are flying from and what days of the week. From a hotel perspective I always try for $135 a night. But for April/May everything is still above $200. Expect it to come down around November but we will see.

 

With Expedia, the rates change a lot when you add a flight (for the better).
maybe you can save the airmiles for something else

 

So, I see you feel my pain! Our airfare is reasonable at $600 rt non-stop/per person but for Feb-March to be THAT HIGH is crazy. I hope it comes down but I am doubting it.

May I suggest you people who are booking with an including air ticket are getting diddled. We have been to TTR 4 times and each time booked airfare and accommodation separate. Always worked out cheaper for us, and we come from Australia

 

checked last night... 10 days at feb 16 is 600 more pp then it was for the same lenght/time of the year as last year.

reevaluation time...

TTR is fun, but 1200 more???
