What is with the prices!!!??? Holy hell!

$47 extra per night for an Ocean View room? Walk down to the beach if you must see the Ocean, how often are you really in your room and no offense, the beach/ocean Temptation is at sucks so not worth it in our opinion. Whats good about Ocean view is usually they are quieter rooms so your guranteed to not be stuck around Paty'Os at night.

We use Kayak for flights and have booked rooms through Expedia & Alpharooms in the past. We now book direct through the resort.

 

"Ocean view" at TTR can mean "I can see the ocean if my partner swings me out over the balcony by my ankles". NOT worth it for a crane-your-neck view. No one spends any time in their room at the resort, except for sleeping and adult activities, which do not require a view of the ocean (unless, of course, you like to gaze off into the distance while you put on a balcony show).

 

You guys are right, i did that last year, lets see if we can save some cash and book a regular room hehe

 

I have used carribeanhotels.com and found very reasonable prices, I fluked into it from trip advisor. Not sure if they are still around but check it out for sure!!

 

Honestly I won't ever pay for an upgraded room again. Unless I am really jonesing for a 1st floor hot tub stay that is. Basically all the rooms have the same feel and the "ocean view" is so hit or miss it is insane. That is unless you are able to bribe your way into a certain room or block area in particular.

 

I am not sure what I am missing. Some of the prices I am seeing in this thread are more than just booking through the hotel. If you can't beat the hotel price why book through someone else?

 

^^^ prices had been drastically lower than hotel price in past. Day passes were 80 a person from hotel while you could find rooms around 120 per night for 2 people AI at sites like AR, spooks etc..

 

I think some people post prices that include airfare. Usually Canadians get better deals with packages from what I understand. The best discounted rates to shoot for are $120-150 per COUPLE per day depending on the dates. That does NOT include air. Some websites quotes per person not per couple and it confuses people.

The prices almost doubled for the dates I wanted. And really I was in Cancun last October it's low occupancy time. TTR may be different as they get party goers for Halloween. But the dates I am there really have nothing to do with Halloween.

Raiaing the rate per person per day can escalate - a 1 dollar hike = 14 dollars on 2 people over a weeks vacation.
