Sorry Roberto...got carried away. I tried to commend Michael and Naoautorizada on a lively discussion but Denise called it a load of bean sprouts and deflated my fragile ego. Since then we've worked our way into the Stanley Tool Company in New Britain CT (not far from Roberto's house in Naugatuck) where I'm trying to find a flux capacitor to help clean Kelly/Cancun Canuck's pipes right thoroughly. I do, of course, this does not a take away from the main point that child abuse in any form is most heinous, and should be treated as such by our legal system.
I'm not about to apologize for what I do for a living..not that anyone on here asked me too. But the bottom line is that in order to protect everyone's right to a fair trial, everyone must be afforded those rights no matter what their crime. It is not my job to declare innocence or guilt or hand down the punishment if found guilty. It is my job to see that my client's rights are protected and give him the best representation possible. The rest is up to the Judge and jury. And as distasteful as it might seem to many, if a client can pay for my representation then he/she is going to get it. I got PM from someone asking me whow I sleep at night after representing less than stellar individuals. The answer is very well as long as I have done the best I can do. I don't expect everyone to understand how I do what I do. I don't under stand how a dentist can put his fingers in someone's mouth. But that's his job. Just like representing people charged with crimes is part of mine. And remember...just because a person is charged does not mean he's guilty.
Amen Karan! In this instance I think it's an open and shut case... not being a Lawyer lets me make snap judgements now and then... but every man lives in fear of the day he walks into an elevator alone with a woman who then rips her blouse when the doors close and screams rape when they open again. The guy is considered guilty in an instant. In cases like that I'm glad there are Lawyers like Karan out there that are willing to take the case and defend me. Make that women under 18 and even if you get aquitted you're still branded as a pedofile (sp?) for the rest of your life. Jamie
   How can you say things like that to a person you know NOTHING about    We can all agree to disagree but personal insults like this are completely unacceptable :!: :!: We all live on the same plannet....let's treat each other with some respect or perhaps this should be locked :!:
What do you expect??? I have to pay my bills and representing clients is how I do it. I am most certainly NOT ahamed of that. If you don't understand it then that's really your probelm because in this particular matter what others think it's my concern. I'm doing an honest job for an honest income.
i sense a bit of jealousy here......Karan you should obviously be proud of what you do and what youve accomplished. Its one of the hardest professions to get into, some people can, and some people just cant hack it. Then they do nothing but complain about it all the time GO KARAN!!!!
Well said, Fletch. Now how did Steve put it that one time? :brick: Kidding! Just kidding!!! George
Indeed, 60+ trips to Cancun has got to put a the strain on the budget Check the thread RI GAL - I didn't bring it up, Karan did - and it's about the perception of the profession, not about Karan per se. wayyyyyyy off base, Fletch Back to the original thought then - When persons in your 'profession' clearly, publicly, and consistently express a disdain for what the public (your customer base) thinks about what you do, how can you be so surprised when the perception is negative?
