You'll get more for your money using pesos. If you convert from pounds to dollars and then again to pesos you will lose money in the conversin. Go straight to pesos to get the most bang for your buck. Or like Jamie said, use your ATM and get your pesos out of there. But definitely stick with pesos.
But keep in mind when you use your ATM card, your funds and such ar elisted in Pesos at the bank machine. make sure you remember that otherwise it really screws you upp!
That was the commercial rate niki and not available in travel agents or banks to individual travellers abroad. Only to large business's for comercial overseas transactions. Thomas Cooks are currently quoting £1 = $1.86 ( US Dollar ) and £1 = $18.70 Mexican Pesos. Personally ( and dont think I'm having a go at you here   ) i think its financial suicide if your a Brit to take dollars, You'll pay a lower exch rate overhere at the so called ' no comision outlets to get dollars , only to use them over there where you will get your change in Peso's in bars and shops AT THIER EXCHANGE RATE on which you'll get goosed again, Seriously , been twice and this will happen. Take a couple of hundred quid in pesos's to get you by and use your cash card the rest of the time, there's loads of atm's out there, all useable to all UK bank cards. Ian
There is also a roaring trade in football (soccer) shirts. A couple of last season's tops provide good tips that the barmen don't forget quickly.
While they appreciate things like this, they can't pay their rent and feed their families with a football shirt. Considering the small amount of money the employees make a gift of a shirt should be in addition to a tip if youare so inclined......not in place of one. The tips are how they pay their bills and survive.
Niki Hi Ian is right take Pesos Leave the Dollar alone It is Mexico their currency is the Peso Take pesos and use the ATM And have a great time
