the debate on membership prices is a long one. And it's like buying a car really you can go into the dealership and buy a used car ( no we didn't buy someone else's membership this is just an anology) that suits your needs or you can buy the top of the line Maserati ( same here )with all the bells and whistles. Both will get you from point A to B all that matters is your comfort level. When we purchased ours we went the used car route, we negotiated what was right for us at the price we wanted to pay. And if you want to buy the Maserati then and you end up with more perks than I have then all the power to you as you paid for those perks.
