I've stayed in 5 star resorts in Mexico at twice the price and they sold day passes to the locals! Im not looking for 5 star at TTR. Im there to spend the week with my wife half naked and drinking all day like I haven't got a care in the world. All the while surrounded by people doing just the same.
hmm.. we were there for Halloween and we thought that things were great.. and that even the food seemed better, sorry that you had to experience that after traveling so far...I do find TTR very inconsistant though with the food.. some trips its great some trips it good enough..
The things with the rooms is the inconsistency. It's amazing that rooms in the same price category can be so different. Our first trip we stayed in the 5000 block, and we had a window fromt the bedroom to the toilet (rigged a towel over it), one tiny mirror, and no counter space for getting ready; our friends downstairs in the same building had an awesome bathroom and room-length counter and mirror. Second trip, we were in the building by the quiet pool and had a gorgeous, updated room with a great ocean view. Third trip, they tried to put us in the 5000 block in a first floor room away from the ocean, no light coming in, and NO bathroom door whatsoever...not even a curtain. It was like a jail cell! Luckily, we were able to change...but why in the world don't they just install doors????!
We always stay near Patyo's cause I need the noise to make sure I don't miss anything, and I guess staying there we get the cleanest rooms cause everyone wants to move cause the noise. You also get ocean view from there as well, it's central and I can go to the bathroom in my room when partying at Patyo's. Yep the hotel is just that a hotel and the reason we are there is to spend it with friends. We were there in November and we didn't notice anything different from other trips. Temptations has always been clean for us. I did hear on here that there was a problem with people putting towels out in the m iddle of the night. I expect that April is so crowded that they won't be able to get away with it.
There were no chair problems last April/Mayhem. To me, its ridiculous to save something in the middle of the night you won't use till the afternoon. We wake up early every day and had no problem getting chairs during breakfast. I discovered day 1 that I didnt need a chair and gave mine away daily. the only time i was out of the pool was a quick smoke and bathroom breaks.
As we said in o,p, we have had some great times there,, But when your spending two weeks there in a tatty dingy room as home for that sort of time is unacceptable. Fine if you wanna be drunk all day and dont care where you crash out but we go for the whole experience of cancun. Weather, people, resort , food. When we've been before its been excellent,, and unless somethings said it will slip even more and one day wakeing up sober you'll think < what the hell am I doing here. ' There was plenty complaining,, and a lot were repeaters like us. That sayes something.
On on my 12 trip n 5 days last one being Dec. The only negative I can say is the front desk doesn't run as smooth. We felt food was upgraded from previous trips. The act were amazing outside of this trip act have taken a turn south 5 sleeps to paradise
