I think the 24-hr pool idea only works in the hot months, as the sports pool is not heated, unfortunately. I've been to the resort in December, April and September, and the only time the sports pool was warm enough for me to get into was September (granted, I'm a sissy, but no one else was in there either in December and April). Now, if you're really drunk late at night, I assume you won't feel the cold, so have at it.

I have never been in a 2-star room at TTR. The 5 I have been in (I moved a couple of times during 1 trip) have all been 3.5 to 4-star in my view, but I have never been put in one of the "stinky" rooms nor the rooms that look out onto the road. The good news is that unless the resort is seriously overbooked while you are there (this is probably only a March-April-May issue), the front desk is happy to move you to another room. The bellhop who brings you to your room will move you on the spot if something else is available. He will just call the desk or go check with them, and come back and move you.

Really, the point about the resort is not to get bogged down by obsessing about any individual issue. There is so much good at the resort, and so much to distract you from the lesser points, that you have to be pretty darn high-maintenance to be unhappy with your stay.

Yes, we booked with the Co-op, but it's still the Thomas Cook holiday we're getting. Who are you flying with, not long haul with Monarch surely?

I would say this resort is a solid 2.5 to low 3 star resort. It is nowhere close to a 4-star and the price is reflective of this. Look up other 4-star resorts and there prices and you will see that Temptation is just plain cheap compared to them. They definitely inflate there star ranking.

The Sports pool is 24hrs and depending on your date of stay it could be very cool, which means refreshing, which means you can't hang out in the corner or you will be damn cold. A vigorous swim will warm you up and refresh you.

You are not coming to Temptation for the rooms or the food - you are coming to have a great time at an an adults only super fun & friendly resort at a great price.

You will have a blast if you keep an open mind and don't focus on the negatives!

I disagree. I consider Temptation a 3.5 star. But everyone is alowed to their opinions. I've been to a few 4 stars n a 5 star once.

Two scenarios ( Ive done both )

#1. You arrive on a full occupancy week. You get stuck in a room above patios right above the grill, they can't move you. The buffet is stretched to the limits cause of the high occupancy and the trays are not refilled,Its hard to get a drink at the busy bars..the A la cartes are fully booked, the weather that week is not great,, ect....

#2 You arrive in Normal occupancy (say 80%).. You get a great room in the quiet section or over looking the pool. Its easy to get a drink. The food is always fresh and full trays, a la cartes are easy to book and the weather is great ect.

    In # 1 I would be hard to give a 3 star
    # 2 is a strong 4

Just to say different weeks and events ,weather ect can change our perception on the ratings.

TTR is like Narcotics, once your hooked your going back even if you have a bad trip ,
(not that I would no ,lol)

Hotel star ratings are based on the facilities they offer, for example, reception being open 24 hours, all rooms having a minibar etc, it has little to do with how "good" it is.

Yes I am, if the food was awful, if they did not have the a la carte restaurants, we wouldn't come.

    Ya beat me to it.

The Star rating is misleading. I've been in 4 and 5 star hotels that smelled bad, served poor food, had moldy bathrooms and dirty sheets. Just saying.

Temptation might be a 4-star amenity scale place, but the only way it's 4 star on the amenity rating scale is by including the first floor's generally-available stuff in the lobby area. It's not in the rooms.

But, Donald nailed it, you won't be in the room except to sleep, clean up, change clothes and do your acrobatic combat cooperative couples gymnastics.

Let's see, I've stayed at La Sammana on St. Martin, which was a real 5-star hotel/resort. It was beautiful, pleasant to be at, comfortable to sleep in and ABSOLUTELY BORING. Capitals are better than the multiple exclamation points, in my opinion, to express my opinion in a redundant fashion.

TTR is going to feed you well, get you as trashed as you want to get and a bit more, feed you again, and have you laughing yoru ass off as you talk to cool people and look at the same cool people and make tons of great new friends. That's what TTR is about!

And yes, the Sports pool is chilly during the cooler months, gbut it is open 24 hours.
