We had a great time at Alternatives Sports Bar by Nice Shoes on our rain out day. You can always have a great time by mixing fun people, a bit of alcohol and some creativity.
Don't get out of the Sexy Pool during rain(unless there is lightning) just cover you glass in between drink so it doesn't rain in your glass! When empty go back to the swim up bar and get another drink , REPEAT AS NECESSARY! When ready go back to the room channel 12 and SEX SEX SEX!!!!! Debbie
it started raining while we played volleyball, we kept playing. it started to pour, we kept playing! i highly suggest bump setting during a monsoon. too many rain drops in the eyes to hand set. it rained while i was in the sexy pool, we kept drinking. i only got out after the second clap of thunder, then took a nap. a lid on your mug is greatly helpful here it rained at Paty'O, we kept dancing. it rained harder, we kept dancing! a lid on your mug is also helpful here.
As the others have said, don't pay much attention. I've had the weather for Cancun on my phone for over a month and it forecasts rain 95% of the time but I haven't read any tr's that mentioned any heavy rain.
We have been to Cancun many times and always have had rain in the forecast, however we have only seen one day where it rained hard and it was in the morning for about 4 hours and decided to hop the bus and go shopping. By the time we got there, it was over and sun was back out. Usually it's pretty quick to move on out - go grab a bite to eat, get a drink and relax. We have stayed a total of about 30 days and seen one morning of rain, and a less than 15 min the rest of the time and they have called for rain everyday in the forecast.
We just stayed in the pool! Enjoyed the emptyness and snuggled up in the hot tub bit! There is of course channel 12, and the sports bar.
We've just got back afteer a 2 week holiday, and it did rain almost every day, but only for about 20 minutes, and it's so warm we just stayed in the pool. It didn't really affect anything at all. We had one day when we had a tropical thunderstorm for most of the day, and we just socialised with friends, and waited for it to pass. Some events were moved to Nice Shoes, which wasn't great, but as everyone else has said - don't take too much notice of the weather forecast (and there is always channel 12).
