We are leaving my mom a copy of our travel details as she is watching the kids and could care less. She and my dad have been to nudist resorts. My inlaws are getting the "i can't remember, its something spanish" answer. They know that my mom will have the info if they need it when we are gone. It depends on the co-worker which answer they get. :aktion031: :69:
Shannon, I'm in the same boat as you--my teen daughters would just die if they saw pics of me being bawdy, shooting tequila, and dancing like a crazy woman (which are my three favorite things to do in life, of course!) Add in my uber-critical parents and a job in education, and I get very elaborate in my lies. We not only told family we were staying at the Royal, but we researched it on Tripadvisor knowing my family would do that, and then we even walked down to the Royal and posed for pictures at the entrance sign!
I too tell exactly where I am going. I am going to Temptations Resort in Cancun, its 21 and over, All- inclusive, and topless optional. Hence the word optional. boobs are boobs everyone has them, they just are all different shapes and sizes. It is like spring break for adults. This is coming from a woman who works in the corporate world, a part time bartender, Mother of a Minister and a daughter of a clown. (diverse is putting it mildly) With this being said in the last 2 years 5 newbies came with me last January. This past January 3 of the 5 returned and 5 newbies are coming with me this April. I love TTR, I tell everyone how much of a blast it is and they are the ones missing out! And you really do make lasting friendships with people from all over the world! I really can't even imagine another place to vacation for the price. So I can admit out loud, I am addicted to TTR Cancun!
We just tell them the truth. The is nothing to be ashamed of at all and we have even taken friends to the resort.
I tell all my friends exactly where I went (and now where I will be going every year) and try to encourage them to come. My siblings also get the truth. His siblings don't live near us so they don't really ask. Plus we travel so much for work and other trips that it's more like a 'Oh, Paul and Amber are going somewhere again. Surprise, Surprise. ' kinda thing then a 'Oh how exciting. Where to?' kinda thing. My parents on the other hand....well, they are the type that don't drink, smoke, curse, or doing anything besides go to Church 3 days a week. They raised me in a very strict christian home which, no doubt is the reason why I am as wild and crazy as I am today. They would freak. I just told them that we are going to a 'Sandals' type of resort since we have done a Sandals in Jamaica before (most. boring. trip. ever.)
How about saying "Hotel Tentaciones"? (Temptations in Spanish - pronounce the "c" in Tentaciones as a "s" sound.
I tell my kids the name of the hotel by just leaving the name and number to Temptations on a paper. We absolutely know they won't read unless someone dies and even then not even maybe. I think they are both pretty clueless to the swinger reputation. My sister in law and brother in law are two different stories and think we must be swingers if going there. I just tell them not to be so judgemental and should they choose to come there that yes, absolutely I will be topless. So that keeps them away. My neighbours all know and would probably come there but again I told them I will be topless. Lol But they are still thinking about it. I really did like the name Bluebay Getaway better but if patients or friends from work ask I totally tell them the name. They know from the stories that I am there to party and that obvisously having gone 13 times that I have the time of my life. It drive me nuts when friends go to cancun and tell me they read three books on vacation. WTF reading!
I think we need to party together! It would be very therapeutic. I have three teenage daughters. We have a lot in common. Did you find a fun loving guy that embraces your wild, sexy side like I did? Hope so!
