I just find it a little embarrassing when people ask the name. Adults-only, even saying topless optional, I don't have a problem with, but saying yeah this place is called Temptation. I don't lie any more though. If people ask, I tell them and try to keep a straight face.
Everyone that knows us know we have been to cancun many times so the only thing we say is that we book last minute trips to any hotel thats 21 and over, as of yet no one has actually asked for a hotel name. We take cell phone so thats the only # needed for emergency,,,, (.Y.)
The first time we stayed at Temptation we were a little shy about telling people, but we had never been to Cancun and didn't know what else to say, so told the truth. Now we proudly say "we are going back to Temptation" if asked. Lisa's parents always ask, "is that the resort with boobs everywhere?" I just smile and say "yes it is!"
We've actually had friends that kept asking us which resort, and we finally told them. The name "Temptation" alone, in some judgmental types, conjures up 24/7 free for all sex parties. All it took was for them to scan TripAdvisor (some horrible "Its a free for all swingers resort with older perverts reviews") for TTR, and we were apparently automatically considered off limit swingers. Havent heard from them since. hahaha We've had others that kinda raised an eyebrow. So yeah, we understand that not everyone has "cool" relatives or employers who wouldnt judge. Most people dont. At this point, we've been to Cancun so many times, no one usually ask anymore.
Let the boring husbands and wives, Lead their boring little lives, And accept their sexual frustration Cuz they're not chill enough for Temptation. See Y'all next September!
If they ask specifically for the name, the truth works. Life is better lived by weeding out people who would judge you for going here. There are 7.7 billion people in this world.
I told my family we were going on a missionary trip to Africa. Pretty sure my siblings don't believe it but my grandmother is really excited for and happy we are going away now.
So we went full circle... In the beginning we didn't do anything 'bad'. Just there for the party. But due to the stupid name 'Temptation' and that fox show at the time being on tv 'Temptation Island' where couples go to an island and are presented with all sorts of temptations to test their marriage and cheat we were fearful of judgement. Easy to say people who judge you shouldn't be your friends but sadly we like some of those people and interact with them in our non 'adult' circles (school events, neighborhood events, kids events, etc). So during those days we said 'Rui' as yes as mentioned above there are several. So if someone says oh Rui Cancun almost like they have been there we will say oh no the other one. Never want to be trapped in a convo about a resort we never actually went to So anyway then we officially got 'tempted' by some of those temptations and decided what the f, who cares, next time someone asks we will just say it is like spring break for adults and yes the name is stupid, but it is just a great party. So in a group setting some friends asked and we shared exactly that. First response 'that sounds like a swingers resort!' then 'are you swingers?' then a quick pull up of trip advisor and the first review is about swingers and orgies and well hell, god damn it, that didn't work out well. Now any time we say we are going on vacation the question is 'are you going back to that swingers resort?'. Annoying. So now we have returned to saying other resorts... sometimes we choose Rui because it is easy. Others we go with obscure smaller resorts we find on trip advisor and study up on for 15 mins in case we get inquiries. Just seems to be easier that way. Sad world that we live in.
