I stayed there last year...we were a bit nervous because it had just been taken over by Barcelo and was just being finished after the hurricane before we got there...I had heard some rumours that things weren't running smoothly..and some people had been disappointed... but when we got there we were surprised...everything was done (except for some villa type rooms on the main floor) and it was a great hotel for the price we paid...the food was decent..there was supposed to be an Italian restaurant but there wasn't..didn't bother me as I'm not a big fan of Italian food anyways... the people were all fun...it was May not spring break so I don't know what it's like then but I would say the majority of people were younger (20-30)...the staff was good...rooms were nice and clean...there are three pools...one of them is really quiet...the other a with a little more going on (activities and games) and the third the busiest with built in loungers... I've stayed at the Oasis before...and I know it is THE spring break hotel...but I would stay at the Tucancun before the Oasis...
Well I was just there with Apple in March for Spring Break. It was a nice hotel, fun stuff during teh day, and the staff was great. They were so much fun. The service was good, the food was your average all inclusive hotel. Rooms were nice and big, and it was close to things..
i quite liked it. great staff... they have the party boy himself. clean rooms, decent food. stay away from the donkey burgers they can get to you after a while. nice pools, great beach, close to everything. mall across the street. mini bar in room, they get you great spots in the clubs, bottle service... they even have fun water aerobics and games during the day. i say go for it. :michaelf:
