I've done wedges poolside no problem....heel may be a bit risky. You will find many of the floors very slippery all over the resort.
My wife gets the large bag for just her shoes (the bag has a tag asking the baggage handler to "be careful, my shoes are in here"). Typically the nights start out with themed 6 to 8 in platformed heel. Later in the evening (read 4 to 5 drinks later) switching to wedge sandals. Glow night was translucent platform heels, a florescent fishnet dress and florescent body stickers and glitter. We could have packed the entire outfit in the shoe bag with the shoes. Last trip she had 12 pairs of shoes and rocked them all!
