I stayed there two years ago. The beach is alright. The Westin Resort and Spa is at the end of the hotel zone, almost the furthest hotel from the clubs, restaurants, etc.
I would recommend staying at the Westin Lagunamar. My boyfriend and I stayed there this year and it's right across from La Isla shopping center and has many more amenities. It's like night and day.

    We Love it

Steyed at The Westin last november for the 5th time.
The beach is sooper wide. Better than it's ever been. You can walk down to Club Med and snorkle off the rocky point.

It is at the very beginning of the HZ. First shuttle stop from the airport.

Since the busses are so easy we don't mind the location. You're the first on the bus and returning the last off.

beach is fine but the location most people would say is horrible as it is the farthest point from the action and far tio anything. You cannot walk to any restaurants or shops and must take a bus 5-6 miles for pretty much anything

    Re: hotel

the hotel room was nice, but there were issues. when taking a shower in the stand-up shower, the water tended to seep under the shower door and get the whole bathroom wet. the doors didn't fully touch the ground, i think that is why. beds are super comfortable, just like all the westin beds.

i remember the restaurants being good. we ordered room service the one night and it was also good.

don't get me wrong. it is not a terrible hotel. it just isn't what you would expect from a westin.
