Rob and Cassi; First of all I hope that you are feeling much better. Not the recommended way to do it but you might as well get something positive out of it. LOL As an FYI and I am not sure if you have experienced this, but when I go to TTR eating the fine Mexican cuisine, my innards get introduced to some new Mexican bacteria that messes up with my regularity, color, and density of my you know what. (I apologize for the detail) which lasts for one week after getting home. Anyway, I have learned from one of my nutritional seminars this past year that taking a Probiotic that INCLUDES S. BOULARDII (S. boulardii can help prevent traveler’s diarrhea) is very effective to prevent this and other things from happening related to eating food from other countries. It is suggested that it be taken 1-2 weeks before traveling and throughout visit. I started mine today because I am leaving on the 23rd. I will find out myself how effective it is. I wish you a speedy recovery and safe travels.
The Mr here. First let me say congratz. I have to work all the time to keep my weight off. I wrestled in High School so i started sucking weight at 14 yrs. I am health conscious and have spent my fair share of time in a gym over the years. Like everyone life happens and the pounds creep up. I have tried many diets(fad or not) some work others not so much. I agree the best way is the slow and steady work out regularly + eat less calories. Its what I do most. However when I need a quick 20 lbs I use the HCG diet. Cheap, effective (for me) and I can be down 15-25 lbs in about 3 weeks. I loose an average of 3-4 inches around my waist as well. Ran out of time for this trip so I'm doing the HCG again. Started 4/6 at 114.4 lbs and this morning I'm 202.8 lbs. Will finish in two more weeks and should be around 190 lbs. The one big draw back I've found is unless you change your lifestyle after the diet the weight will all be back in a few months. Would welcome any comments.
My Wife and I have been to TTR twice previously, and we're booked up again for October this year. Last year i managed to shift around 20lbs before the trip but still felt rather 'frumpy' in comparision to some of the beautiful women who travel to TTR each year! Anyways, this year in January, we made a personal pledge that we'd diet for the duration leading up to the trip. Obviously with different events like birthdays and weekend away etc, we've allowed ourselves so indulgence come certain weekends but then got back on it come Monday. Since Jan, I'm 23lb down, ideally i have another 25lbs to go and Morgan is 15lbs down with another 15lbs to go! We have another 6 months so doing well! We're just eating healthy food, cutting out the carbs as much as possible and drinking alot of smothies filled with fresh fruit and veg, changed our normal milk to almond/soya milk and try and cut out junk food etc!
After reading this I must say different diets for different folks but thank goodness we have a place Like TTR to keep us Health conscious and looking good Yea :cheerleaders: for TTR dietS.
No you're not....we are also...this will be our trip to Temptation...July 28-Aug3.....workin out!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
