That would be great.... I'm very excited to see your pictures. You seriously relieved some stress with your experience that things got better and smoother once you touch ground at Temptation. :daveandmo:
Excuse me for butting in but I was reading your thread thinking what a great opportunity it is for you to be able to ask these questions and have others share their experiences with you and help at such an important event in your life ... I mean really ... THANK YOU STEVE for Cancuncare! It really is all about the C A R E
We looked in to renewing vows during our trip in a few days and found the TTR cost very high compared to other resorts. We were going to stay at Sun Palace or Dreams to do the renewal there, and they both had really nice packages with more perks than TTR with a cost of around $500. They waived the entire cost if you were booked 5 nights in club or concierge level rooms. When I got the info from Luz about the package, I told her I was surprised at how expensive it was comparatively, especially when some of what they give you are things you get already just for staying there. Also the room 'upgrade' was actually a downgrade from what we booked, but they offered nothing in exchange. My suggestion was to consider doing what the other resorts do with waiving all or part of the cost with a 5+ night stay in a premium room (like the Temptation suite or jacuzzi suite). I never heard back from her about trying to work with us. I am sure the ceremony on the beach is lovely, it is just very expensive comparatively. We decided not to do it with TTR. Our trip is celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and while we are there we may figure out another way to renew vows. Let me give you another comparison. We could do a vow renewal in SoCal on a private yacht with a champagne and steak/lobster dinner, and spend the night on the boat for $800. We looked into that for our wedding. I told that to Luz as well, just trying to offer some perspective. Her reaction was similar to what we got with our previous Drops of Love fiasco with them, they attach a much larger value to some things they do than what is realistic and then don't understand some other things they should be doing that actually DO have a high value (room service, a real butler service, private dinners). For what they charge for a vow renewal, they should at least give the couple drops of love. The wedding package didn't even have a private beach/room dinner or the romantic aromatherapy bath. I would suggest you look at what other resorts offer in Cancun for vow renewal and ask Luz to throw in drops of love. If more people say this stuff then maybe she will listen. You should get a lot more for what they are charging you!
I was actually looking at the Vow Renewal for us, its our 20th, and as you said you don't get much for the $820 us dollars. If there were more perks or if it were not as pricey we would love to do it, I think we will wait unitl our 25 and renew in Hawaii or on a cruise ship unless TTR comes up with a better plan. I hope the Stewarts have a great ceremony and an awesome time! Every year together is a year to celebrate!
Everything is bought and paid for. I hope things go great. Not to worried about the cost per say, just want it to be a great week. We supplemented the lack of things you get for the cost at TTR with some trips and an awesome dolphin swim. I'll make sure to create an album with pictures and put a link on here for all to see. Our own package ;-) I will make some suggestions to Luz for the good of future guests. ;-)
Yup life is too short to waste time sweating the small stuff. As long as you are happy with what you get then that's all that matters.
