    hURRICANE WILMA

i was in cancun this summer when hurricane Emily hit, and I hope for the people that are there with this hurricane that the officials learned well from our hurricane.

The shelters were in pretty bad condition, toilets were buckets etc...they ran out of water 4 hrs after us being in the shelter and the only food provided had a base of Mayo. The important thing however is that we were SAFE.

For your sister, she will have quite the story when she returns however just send her some positive thoughts while the hurricane hits. She is in for a VERY uncomfortable few hours.

Hi all~ This is a great board and i am so glad I found it. That said, I'm making plans to go to Cancun for the first time in either Nov or Dec. My concern is the temp of the water in the wintertime. My girlfriend and i are all about the beach and we've heard conflicting reports on temp of air and water. Also we've heard that a lot of hotels don't heat the pools either. Any info would be helpful to me, so thanx!

    It's like a dream there.!

This may be my last report while Wilma arrive, it is 4:15 PM the ocean has grown in huge mount and it now hit the 3rd step from ocean to our pool that is abour 3 feet higher than the ocean.

Waves this huge is also something that we had never seen in 7 years living in Cancun, we have no beach, HZ acces is close since 1 PM today, no alcohol can be sold and wind is around 35 miles.

Eye has grown form 4 miles to 40 miles according to the 22 advice.

Good luck to all the Cancun residents, visitors and nature.

Ana, I really think you should evacuate while it is still safe to do so. This is going to be a big one. You know where we are if you need us.

I think we will go away at 10 PM, the forecast is really uncertain.
